Hello! Thank you for using yiff.party!

We hope you enjoy using it. yiff.party operates on a non-profit basis, and as such, all the server expenses are paid by our users. We don't want to run ads or infect you with crypto miners. We depend on users like you to keep the site running, and to preserve years and terabytes of amazing content—some of which is no longer available from its original creators!

Because of the nature of the site, many users are reluctant to donate. That's OK! yiff.party was created so everyone can enjoy the content we host without any restrictions or paywalls. But if you value the service we provide, and are able to, we—and our users—would be tremendously grateful if you considered making a donation.

Donation progress for July 2020

So far, approximately $0.00 has been raised out of our target of $250.00. We're about 0% of the way there! Please note: this tracker is updated manually—don't worry if your donation doesn't show up immediately!

yiff.party's server costs are due on the last day of each month. So, we need to meet this goal before 31 July!

How to donate?

At this time, yiff.party can only accept donations in numerous cryptocurrencies. Please select a currency below to display the relevant donation address.

Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum Classic (ETC)
Litecoin (LTC)
Why can't I donate through other means (eg. PayPal)?

Due to the nature of sites like yiff.party, it is very difficult to find payment processors who will accept clients like us. If we were to accept donations via PayPal, it wouldn't take more than a day for someone to submit an abuse report and get our account frozen. Until a viable way of accepting monetary donations becomes available, cryptocurrency will remain the only option.

There are many resources available on how to purchase crypto. For Bitcoin, check out bitcoin.org's page on buying Bitcoin for a list of methods. For beginner Bitcoin users, yiff.party recommends using an escrow service such as LocalBitcoins.

How did Bikkie and Ruddock come to learn English?
user avatar
User #8363286 - 1 Jul 20 19:38
Did they? I thought everybody was just sporting translation chips. The comic is in English for our convenience.
user avatar
User #5662565 - 2 Jul 20 01:49
I meant just speaking in general, for animals. Giving a translator to a more primative species won't be as effective as Doug in UP! Ruddock has his heuristic collar or whatever it is, but Bikkie doesn't seem to be wearing anything like that. Did Chris borrow the translator microbes from Farscape? Or is everyone wearing a Babelfish?
user avatar
User #138907 - 2 Jul 20 04:40
Bikkie and Ruddock have translator chips implanted, like all the other characters do. The chip translates languages so its user can understand them, including concepts and writing. Each person has the other's meaning mapped in their language centers so it seems to them they heard or read it. It's like a form of artificial synesthesia.
user avatar
User #5662565 - 2 Jul 20 10:34
The point is the level of understanding. How did Bikkie and Ruddock become smart enough to understand any language in the first place? Are they genetically engineered? You could put a translator chip in a dog, but it wouldn't do any better than Google Translate on barks, growls, whines, and howls. Also, I just discovered that bikkie is Ozzie for biscuit.
user avatar
christopherbaldwin - 2 Jul 20 14:45
You're thinking too hard about this, Gridleeep. I'm afraid for the humor of the strip you kinda just have to accept that all animals communicate, and the translator chip allows others to hear it in words. And that no, there is no scientific basis. :)

User #138907 - 1 Jul 20 06:29

So many "ifs" of course reminds m of the wonder Jaques in Shakespeare's "As You Like It," in his ramble about the "seventh cause." Brilliant.

"All these you may avoid but the Lie Direct; and you may avoid that too, with an If. I knew when seven justices could not take up a quarrel, but when the parties were met themselves, one of them thought but of an If, as, 'If you said so, then I said so;' and they shook hands and swore brothers. Your If is the only peacemaker; much virtue in If."

Maybe, though I read it differently:- He has mixed feelings. On the one hand space has enabled him to change gender quickly, easily, painlessly and perfectly; and it offers all sorts of exciting sort-of-bestial encounters for those who like them. On the other hand it has some very dangerous beings in it and there is a learning curve like the side of the Burj Khalifa - and if you fall off, you can fall off hard.

Has anyone who is visually impaired ever reported that descriptions of your strip have resulted in states of vast confusion or even traumatic fright? I was just contemplating Wezzle's head tentacle and that thought kind of made my brain yell at me Wait! What are you looking at?

Don't worry about it. Assuming Willowwep [sic] Manor is "wheah de money at" at the moment, you go right ahead. Those bills don't pay themselves. Well, unless you have automated billing, but, still...
user avatar
User #9559912 - 31 May 20 12:35
Sorry to nitpick, but in the third panel, did you mean "consoled" instead of "condoled?" Good luck with Willowwep Manor!
user avatar
christopherbaldwin - 31 May 20 14:35
I think I meant condoled. That they expressed sympathy for grief, not that that actually helped lessen the grief.

Philip K. Dick speculated (or asserted; it's tough to tell) the existence of psychic vampires, ghostly electrical beings (very much presaging Slenderman) who insert their long tendril fingers into the brains of animals and extract their intellect as food. Psychic vampires are why cows and chickens and dogs are not as smart as humans. When Dick was busy writing, he would have something for the head, Mozart loud on the earphones, and some cats to keep away the psychic vampires.

Mind you, in Spain I believe one would call "112" and not "911," but since YOU all have had the language chip implanted in the wernicke area of your brain, you read it as "911."

And in GB it's 999. Which is amusing considering how difficult it is for the British not to be beastly to the Germans.
user avatar
User #284822 - 29 Apr 20 14:48
112, 911 and 999 are all possibilities, depending on where one is. Some service providers will accept a range of emergency numbers and route them all to the same call centre for the benefit of foreign nationals. Of course, for all we know it's different number on each planet, so you need a large book just listing emergency dialling numbers! (Or a large database on the approxiscan, of course. Why lug around a book when you have an approxiscan?)

I am still working long hours, but they’re more “normal” long hours, and so I have begun walking an hour-a-day again. it helps to live in a dirt-road neighborhood where it’s a surprise if I even see ONE other person out walking, so I don’t have to worry about spreading/receiving infection.

Not only is walking one of my favorite activities, and it’s good for my health, but I also do my best idea/writing (in my head) when walking (for some it’s the shower, for some it’s driving. For me: walking).

So, there's been a meme going around, where artist ask their readers to suggest 6 characters to make fanart of. FUN! And so I thought I'd ask you here on Patreon, who do you want me to draw? What character do you love that you're thinking "how cool would it be if Chris drew them?" I have only two rules:

1. Only one character per person, please. Let the fun be shared.

2. I can reject suggestions. I will try not to, and don't know what I'd base a rejection on.
