UNDERWEAR - NUDE
As voted for by you, we present the first image in Abigail's pin-up series.
This was the second clothing variation and the last to be drawn. It is drawn on top of both the nude and the underwear variants. It was interesting trying to get the crumpled clothes to sit in well with the bedding but not stand out too much.
Abigail has feminine tastes but has always valued comfort and simplicity. I thought the two tone of the top, which is actually slimming, also ties in with the fact that she trims her fur. She always feels too 'poofy' otherwise....don't poke her about it.

We depend on users like you to keep the site running, and to preserve years and terabytes of amazing content—some of which is no longer available from its original creators!
Because of the nature of the site, many users are reluctant to donate. That's OK! yiff.party was created so everyone can enjoy the content we host without any restrictions or paywalls. But if you value the service we provide, and are able to, we—and our users—would be tremendously grateful if you considered making a donation.
So far, approximately $0.00 has been raised out of our target of $250.00. We're about 0% of the way there! Please note: this tracker is updated manually—don't worry if your donation doesn't show up immediately!
yiff.party's server costs are due on the last day of each month. So, we need to meet this goal before 31 August!
At this time, yiff.party can only accept donations in numerous cryptocurrencies. Please select a currency below to display the relevant donation address.
Due to the nature of sites like yiff.party, it is very difficult to find payment processors who will accept clients like us. If we were to accept donations via PayPal, it wouldn't take more than a day for someone to submit an abuse report and get our account frozen. Until a viable way of accepting monetary donations becomes available, cryptocurrency will remain the only option.
There are many resources available on how to purchase crypto. For Bitcoin, check out bitcoin.org's page on buying Bitcoin for a list of methods. For beginner Bitcoin users, yiff.party recommends using an escrow service such as LocalBitcoins.

UNDERWEAR - NUDE
Quickie one of Nekoia as a bit of a warm down. She has great hair, classic blonde shade. She never has the patience to style it but she's happy for other people to do it.
I wanted to practice shading and Esme has the handy benefit of having both herself and cloth involved in an easy head shot.
This is a method which uses an area select and airbrush but the work involved is too slow and delicate for my current skill level...and I don't like it. BUT I did learn a bit more about how the select tools work and I do like the way I can apply a selective gradient value. So that may be something to take from this. If that made some sense to you, well done for understanding my rambling! If it did not, just ask if you want to know as always!
I got her head shape better but messed up her nose. I will do construction of the cast's head as the next study...might take a couple of weeks. There's figuring that out as a process then how to apply it to them while also creating different angles.
Also need to see if I can work out the wonky eye ball thing because that's basically the same thing and it's a bugger...but for tomorrow and Friday you get Esme's head with a dodgy nose XD
Researching around I came across a different style of shading. It's pretty much a variation on the standard method I use but this one also has the step of adding more colour variation initially.
I think I applied too much of a difference in tone but I think it makes it look more lively.
So this time around I tried out the hair styles I draw more often! They are a lot more easy than usual and feel more intuitive. :D
Sketching out different styles to see how they might work.
In yesterday's posts I wondered about how ears and horns would affect hair styles....so I thought I would see how it works out with Xy as the 'ears', Paul as the 'normal' and Jonah as the 'horns'.
I thought it would be restrictive but it's not really. It changes how the hair sits and flows around the ears which I hadn't considered before. In fact, Jonah could pretty much completely hide his horns if ever he felt like it.
I like the hair under the ears, I've never really considered it before but it flows nicer.
Still trying to work out the basics. It's really easy to skip over something like this but, annoyingly obvious as this sort of stuff may be, you have to understand the basics. It took me a long time to learn what they were because being self taught and dippy is a special road to learning!
Are you finding the text notes easier to read than scribbles? I don't know if you find it interesting but it helps me so you're stuck with it I guess
So hair itself can be tricky enough but when you think about it, stuff sticking out the hair makes it trickier. For example, Jonah has small horn nubbins as he grinds them down. But Methuselah has massive curled horns so that's something to think on.
Also this is generic head 1, I will use this as a base to practice off as it saves effort of trying to do new heads each time when that's not the focus.
Dodging a friendly attempt at a take down can lead to the more forthright approach to arresting an individual. Nekoia is lovely, right up until you piss her off. OF COURSE, her fist will stop just short of his nose...right?
General anatomy practice and a bit of creature design. This would be something like a smaller, speedier mount more commonly used in the warmer regions.
Took about 11 minutes for the lines and about ten minutes for the rest, lots of concentrating though! This kind of work takes more energy in some ways than my usual pace.
21 minute in total, the anatomy is a little off but you get the general sense of the pose :3
ALSO A HUMON OH NOES
They're easier to practice with for reference so this may happen more, please bear with me <3
As with anything, both usefully and frustratingly there's lots of different ways to approach gesture drawing.
The top set is 'blocking' this is the most painterly approach, it's VERY fast! I think I would need a lot more practice with this to make it viable, it would be worth trying more after I learn to 'paint'.
The middle set is my preferred method using minimal lines and attempting to exaggerate the shape. It's easier to build on top of and once I add the contours still keeps a sense of motion.
The bottom set is meant to be more scribbly and loose to capture the moment without the concern for attempting to much line control. I found this harder, it doesn't match what I have been taught. Though, I think the face is more interesting in this one.
Trying to speed up a bit more while still keeping proportions down.
Gesture drawing is a very simplified way of representing the flow of a pose, it's intended to capture the feeling and motion.
Contour drawing is defining a pose, adding details. I need to be competent at both to capture and express any figure drawing for the comic.
On the left I initially tried to capture the motion as quickly as I could. On the right, I built on this to refine it a bit and define the contours of the pose.
This was going to be a quick sketch but then apparently I decided to try hatching and we get this. Happy little meerkat slave caste from the Southern Tribes
I've learned a lot from this week's study. Not just the anatomy skill of how to draw hands better but a bit more on perspective and how to construct images more.
"Fingers crossed" this leads onto better things...
Trying out different construction techniques for quick sketches for hands. As you can see they are...interesting attempts at perspective. Looking at this, I'm going to do foreshortening practice next.
Lyrics from "Billie Eilish - when the party's over"
One of the problems to trying to create simplified structures is not understanding what's underneath and how it works. So here is the structural attempt at working out hand bones.
This is the first attempt at trying to break the hands down into simplified structures...they're a but more complicated than feet.
This month's Patron Only and Q&A stream will take place on the evenings/nights of Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of June.
As always, you can ask questions about the Hunters Guild comic during the stream and we'll answer them as best we can. If you've got any questions for us before then, throw us a comment and we'll see if there's something we can prep for you before then. You can even leave some requests/suggestions for things you'd like to see in the future....it may end up as weekend content!
You may have noticed a slight change to the head of the Overview page, including a quick description of the world. We're going to work on updating this more over time along with small images and other stuff to make it all "snazzy". This is because we want to prepare for when the Prologue comes out and we start advertising the Patreon page on other platforms (the FA page will get an overhaul as we know it's been neglected).
Abigail won June's Poll. This means the Artist will be create a multi version pin-up of her for the end of this month.
July's Poll offers up the boys for your pleasure. Remember, you can vote for more than one if you just can't decide. We'll close the poll at the end of the month with the winner's pin-up being done for the end of August.
They're not supposed to use their stones when they're in the compound. It's either serious enough to go to S4 or you can walk it off but well...could you leave Oscar like that?
Reading is such a dangerous hobby, high stakes.
Poor Oscar, lights are on but nobody is home.
-Makes uncomfortable noises!- Well I looked at many more feet than I wanted to. It was valuable though, I've not been able to draw feet at well as this before.
Fun fact: I have a phobia of feet! >.<
Using the bone and basic shape study I did I made this turn around of a single posed foot from the font, back and both sides. Learning to simplify things down is a good skill but it also needs to be paired with at least a basic functional understanding to work well.
I marked the toes a different colour as this reinforces how they are the 'mobile' part of the foot structure.
Tumblr trash from the discord chat XD was too good not to
One of the ways of building up structure of the feet is to place the sole and the build up the rest of the foot from that point. I managed to draw these feet without reference! -le gasp-
To know the structure underneath is to be able to create the sexy stuff on top. I don't need to learn every bone or sinew name but an idea of the groupings will then let me understand how to apply them.
I don't need to do a muscle/tendon study right now as I'm just trying to learn the basic forms. And what with feet being my old nemesis...start with the worst one right?
Something to even out yesterday! When times are good, they are very good indeed.
They've been out for a drink, as always, and for some reason Nekoia thought it would be wise to tell Oscar he couldn't pick her up and carry her around. So he lifts her up to carry her away...and after she went to all the effort of stealing Sorbin's shoes to be comfortable in.
This made me cry.
Process here (16:41 with music!)
Getting better with this but I'm not sure how well the colours work to convey the idea of OH HECK IT'S DARN COLD UP HERE!
But! You can tell what it all is, so I'll take that.
One of the things I have trouble with is depicting the landscape. I need to use different line weightings and markings to create the idea of texture and depth. So this is a bit of practice of a simple bridge over a river. I think the trees up close could do with a bit of work but overall you get the idea. :)
There is a process video available here (2:08 and now with music!)
Sailing and stuff yeah....
Mainly line weighting practice as well as trying to create a sense of motion and differentiating between the sky and land as it's not as easy as you might think.
Some villages never get out of their original boundaries. It's an unofficial signal of the level of guild presence which may be available either due to resource limitations or regional taxation choices.
Little bit of one point perspective for an internal shot since I will need to do SO many of these and I can't always cheat with 3D software.
Centuries ago, life was wonderfully opulent for the great and good (you guessed it this time around the vampires were on the up). There weren't many in this elite and since they didn't die it was survival of the fittest. It got to the point where it was dangerous to even lean over the cradle.
And from this, sometimes, you get one like Lord Koto. He sits in the corner with his faithful companion with no thirst for power. So sweet, gentle child drawing his brother Cayman. And you've seen what he becomes.
Vampires have a 'grace period' of 100 years of childhood, unless they commit an unacceptable crime. After then, they're fair game to all. Somehow, gentle Lord Koto survived not only the fall but the ensuing turmoil for the centuries after.
Well maybe not so subtle. Esme and Sorbin can get away with quite a bit in the barracks but there is a limit even there.
Sorry for the lateness of this update/Poll, there's been a lot going on at home as University deadlines were due and we had to attend UK Games Expo with Ninja Division. This meant a few posts were late at the start of June (I forgot to schedule, sorry) but we're all caught up now and back to business as usual. Due to the lateness, however, this poll wasn't put up at the start of the month...but...on to the usual business first.

May saw us do a quite exploration into the Moors, Marshlands and Fens as well as the Crystal Mines. We did a couple of short polls for Patrons to pick concept images they wanted to see, the results of which have already been posted.
For April's Poll we asked what you'd like to see, in the future, for your monthly voted content.
A monthly pin-up AND multi version image won had the most votes. So, we're going to merge them into one idea wit the pin-up being clothed and nude as the alternative versions (sometimes with other versions created as well)
From now on, we'll do a monthly poll asking you to select from a list of characters. At the end of each month, we'll take the results of the poll and create the multi-version pin-up for publishing at the end of the next month. To start with, we're going to offer you the five main female cast members to pick from and, in July, we'll offer up the boys. We'll see what feedback we get to decide on what to offer from there.
Our weekly content, as you may have noticed, has shifted to the artist exploring different techniques and finalising some concepts. This will continue for now while the writer finishes the first drafts for the prologue comics (more on this in next month's update).
I know we're late delivering the poll but we'll still need to close it at the start of next month. With this in mind, we'll leave it open until the first weekend of July, closing it at midnight on Friday 5th of July.
Which of our lovely girls do you want to feature in July's pin-up? Remember, you can vote for multiple options if you can't quite decided on just one. If you're unsure of who's who, remember you can use the tags to do a specific character/content search.
As always, thank you for all your support, likes, comments and questions. You're amazing and we couldn't have got to this point without your support and belief.
The watch towers have been maintained since ancient times. They are way stations along the main and lesser, sometimes dangerous routes. They span the length and breadth of the guild country, manned by two to four officers at all times.
Every tower is topped by an old light crystal. Raw and unadulterated they cast a dim glow but this can be amplified with a mirror to form a search light if required.
Among the guild there is a massive lore about towers and the great role they once served. Sometimes, eternal watchers are posted to towers as a duty which can be considered a blessing or curse but no matter what, everyone else reveres them.....though these watch guard can be considered a bit queer after long times of service. They never return to main settlements. It's oft considered a form of retirement for some Sector 1.
A lot of the older structures can require a lot of maintenance. When there is not a sufficient population or the ownership is disputed...things fall into ruin and once a structure isn't weather proofed....well. It becomes a place to camp if you feel brave enough on the road, just be aware that other things like to shelter there too.
Slight cutaway of an isometric view of a building. It's an unnatural perspective used to clearly show the interior and exterior of a structure. Still a skill I'm working on but I think you get the rough idea :3
Downstairs has slit windows with no glass and will have a large barred door for security. It's stone built so harder to burn down but the main protection is against local wildlife in a more isolated area. There are very few fortress houses left but the building style persists in some areas.
Like really actual bricks. There are a surprisingly large number of arranging these. It may be interesting to work patterns into regional types.
These were a study done for a prelude to improving my basic knowledge of architecture depiction.
Well mainly stone, entirely stone in fact. A mixture of rubble and squared off finished stone.
These were a study done for a prelude to improving my basic knowledge of architecture depiction.
A lot of my early 'THIS IS COOL' came from DnD fantasy style illustrations. This is a value study of a piece by Larry Elmore who did a lot of work in the 80s. I applied a copper filter over it as it helps it to read more easily for overall depth. What do you think?
This originally was a blue tonal study piece. A tonal study is when you block out shapes with dark, medium and light shades of the same colour to make sure you have a good composition. I played about a little to make it more interesting.
This is a shot from the movie "Your Name Here" that I half watched earlier. :3
