October 2020's donation goal has been met. Thank you for your support!

Hello! Thank you for using yiff.party!

We hope you enjoy using it. yiff.party operates on a non-profit basis, and as such, all the server expenses are paid by our users. We don't want to run ads or infect you with crypto miners. We depend on users like you to keep the site running, and to preserve years and terabytes of amazing content—some of which is no longer available from its original creators!

Because of the nature of the site, many users are reluctant to donate. That's OK! yiff.party was created so everyone can enjoy the content we host without any restrictions or paywalls. But if you value the service we provide, and are able to, we—and our users—would be tremendously grateful if you considered making a donation.

Donation progress for October 2020

So far, approximately $400.00 has been raised out of our target of $400.00. We're about 100% of the way there! Please note: this tracker is updated manually—don't worry if your donation doesn't show up immediately!

yiff.party's server costs are due on the last day of each month. So, we need to meet this goal before 31 October!

How to donate?

At this time, yiff.party can only accept donations in numerous cryptocurrencies. Please select a currency below to display the relevant donation address.

Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum Classic (ETC)
Litecoin (LTC)
Why can't I donate through other means (eg. PayPal)?

Due to the nature of sites like yiff.party, it is very difficult to find payment processors who will accept clients like us. If we were to accept donations via PayPal, it wouldn't take more than a day for someone to submit an abuse report and get our account frozen. Until a viable way of accepting monetary donations becomes available, cryptocurrency will remain the only option.

There are many resources available on how to purchase crypto. For Bitcoin, check out bitcoin.org's page on buying Bitcoin for a list of methods. For beginner Bitcoin users, yiff.party recommends using an escrow service such as LocalBitcoins.

Traveler!

This adventure is about exploring the ancient ruins of an abandoned city. A group called the Crimson Capes was buried there, inside a beautiful tomb. They were folk heroes and warriors of light that no monster could beat. However, history books describe how this city was destroyed by the gods due to the arrogance of the Crimson Capes.

They performed blood rituals to acquire inhuman power and their capes turned crimson red. This angered the gods, who did not hesitate to eliminate them and their city. Now, a descendant of the Crimson Capes looks for a group of adventurers who can go with him to the forgotten tomb. He wishes to recover a family heirloom, the one that the leader of the Crimson Capes used to have.

This is Olenna's doing. She is a resentful medusa aided by a small grimlock community. A few years ago, Olenna had a romantic relationship with a man but her heart broke when the man's close ones decided to kill him over their relationship. Olenna was forced out of the region, heartbroken and spiteful. She swore to hate mankind and make a pretty stone collection out of them. Olenna settled down in a cavern complex near Panshaw and started her evil-doing. Olenna is in a dark place of hate and despair. She will not listen to reason.

Kalum, City of a Thousand Rhymes 2020-09-27T01:50:08+00:00close

Traveler!

Kalum is a wonderfully vibrant city in the prosperous Kal Kingdom. A hundred years ago, the forefather of the present king was a poet and a singer. He claimed that in another life he must have been a minstrel for music had a calling to him. On a whim, he commissioned artists, sculptors, and painters to immortalize his poems and song lyrics on walls, busts, and statues. To this day, his immortal words adorn many parts of the city, and the content of his lines have become a part of the local culture. People in Kalum speak but their words sound like they are in tune with a song, unexpected rhymes come up more often than not.

This city is a great place to visit for low to mid-level adventurers. A cool place to rest after a dangerous adventure. Or an appropriate place to settle down after a life of adventures and fortune.

Traveler!

I'm not immune to follow the trend of snowy landscapes and frozen locations of late. This is a faraway location in the depths of the permafrost tundra. The entrance of a forgotten dungeon that would be buried in the snow if it were not for the giant eye effigy over the entrance that produces a wave of heat that counters the ice and snow in the area. A local tribe of indigenous people considers this place a sacred location in their religion, even though it has nothing to do with them because it is older than their oral traditions. Still, some of those northern barbarians protect their holy grounds from outsiders and would-be grave robbers. They ignore what is inside the dungeon because it is taboo to descend the dark stairs.

About rules in our supplements? 2020-09-22T05:35:09+00:00

In our written content, we've chosen to include rules-speak like skill checks, game terminology, spells, and monsters conforming to D&D 5e.

We want to know if this is ok by you or if the majority would like to have a system-less approach to this. Kinda like what we do in our one-page-adventures. Let us know.

There is more in RPG than D&D... But D&D is the main system ;)
user avatar
User #6900998 - 22 Sep 20 10:25
I think most of the time it makes/would make little difference.
user avatar
User #11320296 - 22 Sep 20 12:51
For elements that would require conversion, keeping it based on D&D 5e would mean fewer people need to do extra work for things to function easily in their game, since more people play 5e than any other single system. As a DM, I'm on-board for anything that means less prep work.
user avatar
User #90838 - 22 Sep 20 12:43
Honestly, it is easy enough to "translate" things into a different system. Whatever is easiest for the writers to think in gets my real vote.
user avatar
User #24274265 - 22 Sep 20 13:02
Even if there is other RPG systems, everyone is familiar with the D&D rule set and can adjust.

I have players who have never played D&D in their life...

I personally play Pathfinder but DnD rules can pass over decently.

It seems that this Patreon attracts more hard core D&D players.. Too bad.
user avatar
User #9656021 - 22 Sep 20 13:18
Absolutely I agree with you. Either conversion is fairly simple if you are familiar with your preferred system. Most of the checks can be switched between systems easily enough. I don't think it is "too bad" that most people on here are D&D Players, but I get the sentiment that it would be great to expose more TTRPG to the masses.
user avatar
User #6294040 - 24 Sep 20 17:47
I don't play D&D or any of it's clones but I do know how the system works I can convert if need be. I think we need more system neutral stuff out with generalizations for stats and what not but with D&D being extremely popular this poll will be one sided.
user avatar
User #9501440 - 25 Sep 20 02:43
I figured that I can convert from 5E just as easily as I can convert from a system generic document--so it might as well start in a form that is immediately usable by at least some folks

Traveler!

It is that time of the year again. Time to polish your sword and fine-tune your marksmanship because Ampira's Tournament is around the corner.

During this event, you'll have a chance to register for Lord Ampir's contests and have a chance to compete with the local champions in three different activities. The first one is the melee combat tournament. Most locals and even peasants participate in this first blood contest where the swifter wins. The second competition is the archery contest. An elf holds the title of champion, it won't be easy to claim it from him. And last but not least, the jousts are the main event.

Mostly, it is only the nobles that participate in the jousts because participants must be armored and own their horse. But any person that meets the material prerequisites can enroll in this contest. The winner's portrait is displayed in the town's square until the person loses the title.

That is the uppermost layer, I only use it to make the file preview smaller in size. Once you remove that uppermost layer you'll see the illustration. (it's just one click)

Most of the illustration elements are properly named and arranged in folders in the layer area. Some assets like textures or smart objects have been rasterized to reduce file size too.

Denizens of the Tower!

I've been reading lots of OSR and B/X D&D material as of late and I wanted to put the danger to a dungeon again. It bothers me that we all kinda share a sense or expectation of balance within a TTRPG game. In this expectation, a party of level 2 characters going into a dungeon can expect to have their abilities tested just enough to make it challenging, but not so much more that they are overwhelmed. This is the metagame scaffolding behind the game.

Back in the days when you visited a dungeon, there was no preconception that you'd find challenges fine-tuned to your level. Underground, anything goes. You can find all kinds of this and that is what I was thinking when I wrote this adventure. This is meant for a group of level 3 characters but there are some nasty traps, encounters, and situations in this adventure. Not all challenges can be bested with sword and sorcery. It is better to not touch some things. It is better to run from others.

This is a dungeon crawl adventure the adventuring party is meant to find accidentally or visit without much prior knowledge as of what is hidden inside.

Thanks for supporting our stuff this month. It is greatly appreciated! Let us know what you think of this TTRPG adventure.

Until the next one, Elven Tower.

Here is a cool isometric depiction of an adventure location. This is Bellview Church, named after a noble family from before the rebellion with no living heir. The church is the only house of prayer in a small town. The local priest, Bernard, is a sour, sad man who's seen terrible things in his life. The worst of them were his personal tragedies with some family members passing untimely.

A demonic entity noticed his grief and offered him a way to fight back against a god that has never shown his mercy to him or his close ones. After listening closely to the demon's promises and offers of power, Bernard accepted it as his patron. He has changed the belief system in the immediate region and now claims some of the congregation as his cultists. The alderman knows this has to be stopped but cannot rally the tithing-men anymore because some of them are loyal subjects to the church. Never missing a chance to make money, the alderman has a scheme that involves hiring a party of adventurers to arrest a bunch of people to make bank with the bail money.

The Monks from the Crescent Moon Library! 2020-09-13T19:44:14+00:00close

Traveler!

An order of knowledge-seeking monks work and live in the Crescent Moon Library. This repository of knowledge is located in the desert, somewhat protected by the inclement weather and heat. The monks delved in the secrets of the arcane manipulation of existence. Their thirst for knowledge was so strong that they performed the ultimate taboo in magic. With a bloody ritual, they linked their souls to the essence of the abyss. This caused a fundamental transformation on their bodies. They were not bound by physical needs anymore. With no need for rest, food, or water, they were able to work tirelessly for months.

However, their suppressed needs did not support their dying bodies. Their bodies started to degrade until they ere nothing but husks of the scholars they once were. Now they prowl the library, continuing their unending research. Their bodies are mockeries of the past, their souls sorry imitations of a human soul.

Join our Patreon page to have access to the included PDF adventure (see above).

Thanks, I appreciate your support Adam. Does your comment refer to the illustration, or the written adventure content, or perhaps both?

ET - I was in a hurry earlier... dinner prep with kids and so on. Read adventure once, about to read it a second time. Will do my best to give you precise feedback. Among other things... I write reports for a living. I’ve delivered a dozen reportsnover the past week, each 3K-4K typed words each. 1,450 reports over the past 4.5 years. Also... been playing dnd since 85’. Appreciate good artwork and model my inspection worksheet templates after the dnd character sheets.

That's awesome Adam. I'd love to hear any comments/feedback you have on the adventure. You totally don't have to right such a long report. Sounds like work! But an extended review is appreciated.

One Page Adventure - The Cursed Mausoleum 2020-09-10T18:21:12+00:00close

Traveler!

A pair of disobedient teenagers went inside the sunned mausoleum because they wanted to see what old tales were really about. The locals avoid this place because it belongs to the last despot rulers of these lands, a few decades ago.

Two hunters went to the crypt to retrieve the young ones but they too didn't return. Perhaps a group of valiant soldiers and adventurers will accept a reward of gold pieces in exchange for exploring the tomb and retrieving the missing people. Still unknown is the fact that the tomb is cursed with the hatred and suffering of those buried within. These undead abominations are bound to the crypt but the recent visitors have stirred their peace. Rescuing the teenagers or the hunters is a low-probability quest. Time is essential, perhaps they can hurry and make a difference.

This is a new addition to our famous one-page-adventure line. You can get it in full resolution and PDF form (see above) by joining our Patreon page or buy it directly at our store in Drivethru RPG.

We're reviving the concept of the one-page dungeon but as usual, expect one or maybe two of these a month. I prefer longer form adventures, though.

388 Crypt of the Draconic Effigy 2020-09-07T15:43:33+00:00close

Traveler!

This short adventure is about a known crypt from a bygone age that no explorer has managed to plunder yet. Some people in the nearby towns and settlements know this location as the Crypt of the Draconic Effigy. The name has nothing to do with its purpose. It's only that a group of adventurers tried to explore the place a decade ago and only one of them survived. The maimed man told a marvelous story of a deep crypt crawling with undead monsters, traps, and a large fire-breathing brass dragon.

The locals believed the tale and no one got near the crypt in years. It spawned several legends and stories to scare kids at night. In reality, the crypt belongs to a great abbot of a forgotten religion and his close followers. They live in a state of undead suffering after seeing their life deeds forgotten and without fruition. A group of adventurers in the search of wealth and adventures would do well to visit this shunned location.

Denizens of the Tower!

This is an orcish outpost in the middle of the forest. They have a wooden palisade, tents, some things they plundered from a caravan, and other goodies. The map works great with roll20 and other platforms. We've also included day and night versions for this map.

Cool Surprise

This adventure is featured on chapter 3 of a cool adventure we released today. Now, this adventure is not setting generic, it is set in Eberron. The first part of the adventure features an encounter on the Orien Lightning Rail, which is a train. But you can easily skip that encounter and continue to the rest of the adventure that you can port into any campaign.

The second part includes a detailed town with urban activities, lots of random tables for encounters, contests, and fair activities. It's lots of fun. I cannot attach that here because it's on sale at the DM's Guild. But I will send you a discount coupon over Patreon DMs so stay on the lookout for it today.

Thanks for supporting our work this month, you all rock. Until the next one, Elven Tower

Adventure Design - Open Prose vs Delve Format 2020-08-30T15:07:42+00:00

Hello, Denizens of the Tower!

This month we've released all of our map-adventures in a new format we've been calling "2-page delve" because it resembles the 4ed D&D adventures from the book Dungeon Delve.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the result and whether we should carry on doing this or return to the usual open-prose PDF format for our Elven Tower Adventures.

The 2-page delves are shorter in word count, at around 1200-1500 words but all the info fits in a single 2-page spread. Open prose tends to be longer at around 1800-3000 words per adventure, we can include more info but the document does get larger.

TL;DR What option do you prefer going forward?

I would rather see more content, lore and information made available. I would rather not sacrifice content for the sake of keeping the piece shorter or more easily printable, especially when these are digital resources.
user avatar
User #4185598 - 31 Aug 20 01:48
As long as some portion of the map is optimized for Roll20, I am good with either. That said, the only option I disagree with is just give me maps. I tend to change things for my players, but the included lore does give me a good starting position and fun ideas to play with.
user avatar
User #4526668 - 31 Aug 20 09:44
Like them all. Might experiment occasionally outside the printed lines, on things that would be awkward to print, but take advantage of digital media possibilities.
user avatar
User #6039847 - 1 Sep 20 21:50
Basically, you've released assets packs in the past which I've adapted to the DungeonDraft pixels specs, and I see you do use them in your work (floors, walls, etc), but you're continually creating new artwork for each piece, and I'd love to have those as assets apart from the map. For example, your recent orc map had some really cool tents and the campfire. I'd love to have those as standalone assets.
user avatar
elventower - 1 Sep 20 21:52
ok I get it you're right. I reuse a lot of stuff but constantly create new stuff that never gets released as assets or part of a pack. I mostly don't because sometimes it's only just one or two things, like the orc tents you mentioned. But maybe I can compile all those individual and varied assets from several maps into larger packs at the end of the month.
user avatar
User #6039847 - 1 Sep 20 21:54
I would love that!! I'm getting more and more into making my own maps, but with your artwork because I love the style and want consistency. I'm finding that I'm running out of assets to make things interesting though.
user avatar
elventower - 1 Sep 20 21:56
I'll keep it in mind this month and see If I can round up all those small assets into a pack. As an aside, you could extract some of them from my PSD files if you know your way around photoshop.
user avatar
User #6039847 - 1 Sep 20 21:57
I wondered about that. I don't have photoshop but I have Corel, think that would work?
user avatar
elventower - 1 Sep 20 21:58
I have no clue whether corel can open PSD files and retrieve all the different layers. Sorry.
user avatar
User #7285511 - 30 Aug 20 17:43
TBH whichever you prefer doing as well! Its important to enjoy the process. Maybe mix it up - even balance between views at the moment of typing with my finger!
user avatar
User #6039847 - 2 Sep 20 03:15
I can confirm that Corel PaintShop Pro works nicely with the PSD files :-)

User #9656021 - 30 Aug 20 21:33
I voted 2-page Delve Format, but I like both, and think a mix would be nice as well. Though if I have to chose one I would chose the 2-page
user avatar
User #28255837 - 31 Aug 20 15:54
I checked the "I don't read the adventures..." option because it accurately reflects the way I use your content, but by all means continue doing whatever you want to do.
user avatar
User #3433964 - 31 Aug 20 11:00
I'm with Nathan and Ben - I like the open prose format for whatever detail it may provide - but I also liked the tighter (leaner/meaner) two page. The shorter two page (heck, a one page) would work great as a prompter for the GM. Actually, here's an idea: Return to open prose but maybe try a one page prompt sheet? Regardless, I'm cool with whatever you provide as I still feel there is a lot of good value in it. :) Thanks!!
user avatar
User #6039847 - 1 Sep 20 21:46
One other note, kinda unrelated but regarding content. I'd love to see if assets were released with the maps for the special features you incorporate into the maps (preferably in DungeonDraft pixel sizes). I would up my Patron level significantly to get my hands on that.
user avatar
elventower - 1 Sep 20 21:47
Nathan, can you elaborate? I'm not sure what you meant.
user avatar
User #6039847 - 1 Sep 20 22:00
Ok, no problem. Thanks for your awesome stuff, and your help! Always nice to get responses, especially so quickly:-)

In reality I think my answer is I like a mix of both.

Denizens of the Tower and travelers from faraway lands!

With great joy and a sense of quiet accomplishment, I bring you the last of this month's 2-page delve format dungeons! Know that it is thanks to my awesome supporters on Patreon and other platforms that I am able to share this particular release for free to all visitors today. Thank you!

Our intention with this product is to emulate the layout and feel of 4th edition D&D book "Dungeon Delve". In that book, they sliced dungeons in pieces and dedicated a 2-page spread to each mini area that included monster tactics, traps, and even statblocks. We made some changes, the largest one being that these dungeons are included whole in each of our PDF delves. So, it's more like a two-page dungeon but we've taken a lot of hints from the delve format layout and feel.

Here's how it looks in the PDF

This adventure is about an evil necromancer who's kidnapped a few of the locals to do some dark experiments or spells. You know, the usual for those of his kind. The maps are displayed in 3D perspective and a small top-down view sidemap to ease the reading.

Thanks for following this post, consider joining our Patreon page to gain access to a cart-load of cool TTRPG content and a compilation of our recent delve PDFs at the beginning of September.

Until the next one, Elven Tower.

Traveler!

Many large human settlements are built over the remains, ruins, and foundations of earlier civilizations. In this adventure, an adventurous medusa named Vithara discovered an ancient ruin that appears to be a temple of sorts to a tentacled entity from the Far Realm. She does not understand everything about the place or the altar yet. But she followed her instinct, prayed to the altar, and made sacrifices to it. She was rewarded! some of the sacrificed humanoids returned from the dead as sentient undead abominations under her control.

Vithara has a bounty on her head in the large city above for her crimes while participating in the underworld with other criminal gangs. A group of adventurers looking for her to collect the reward may track her to the new lair she just started at the Altar of Tentacles.

Traveler, we need help!

A strange community of stray people, misfits, criminals, and other outcasts has found a home deep under the city in the natural cavern system under the large settlement. They call this place the crystal commune. They have a harsh, difficult life down there but the problems expected are somewhat alleviated by the inventions of a local misfit inventor. He created a system that provides artificial magical light throughout the cavern. He competes with a local cult of fanatics that self-named as The Commoners that often attempt to conduct rituals and strange religious ceremonies as they find their place in the cultist spectrum.

Problems arose recently when The Commoners acquired a ritual book of unknown origin and their leader tried to perform a summoning ritual that resulted in a fluke (what a surprise). The result of the mishap was a strange obelisk-like structure that appeared in the middle of the underground town and destroyed the buildings around it. A pool of acid poured from the obelisk's surface and gave birth to terrible oozing creatures that consume everything they touch.

Now we are in dire need of a group of valiant warrior that can help.

Misty Crypts Crawling with Undead! 2020-08-21T19:29:09+00:00close

Traveler from a foreign land!

A local crypt is the source of local legends and stories. The place remains uncharted, only a few individuals have managed to explore the first chamber and escape after the attack of relentless undead. The place remains a popular talking point among mercenaries and adventurers but most of them are show-offs and liars. The misty crypt remains an unlooted tomb. A promise of riches that only the bravest will be able to collect; or else they will pay the failure with their lives.

The crypt is a cursed placed designed to trap the souls of criminals and despicable individuals in undead form forever. It is a prison of sorts. Some of the undead have managed to break their binds and are "free" to roam the underground complex. With time and growth, they might even leave the crypt.

Here is the seaside observatory. An interesting location your players may be looking for because it is capable to reveal important information about the current quest. Through the use of this primeval observatory, the PCs may learn of elusive information and facts not known by any mortal. It is designed as the cornerstone in between two campaign sections.

There is a school of sahuagin roaming in the area, they do not have any interest in the observatory but know that well-equipped individuals come to this place from time to time. They are here to rob any pilgrims that attempt to use the arcane device. A sahuagin priestess leads the fishmen but she may jump-ship and abandon their brethren if things do not go as planned.

Traveler!

Adventurer!

This is the cool hamlet of Clock Tower! It's a small place with less than fifty inhabitants that is on the road to the largest city in the kingdom. It survives from the commerce from all the travelers, merchants, and mercenaries. Its main feature is a clock tower that was repurposed as an inn/tavern. The small settlement owes its name to this establishment.

The place is about to light up thanks to the unwelcome presence of a band of orc raiders that will attack Clock Tower soon. The locals have no way to defend themselves and are prone to the goodwill of traveling warriors and adventurers.

We continue with the trend of "less is more" of the 4e delve format where we're putting all the information we need to run this encounter into a single 2-page spread. We hope that you find this format fun to read and run.

Thanks for your support this month, thanks to you we can try new things, especially these difficult to craft delve format adventures.

Until the next one, Elven Tower.

381 Clock Tower (Photoshop) 2020-08-13T23:24:10+00:00

Here's the .psd file for 381 Clock Tower. Notice that it is necessary to have Photoshop to use it. Inside you will find that it is all white.

These files are strictly for didactic and/or personal use.

380 Seat of the Skeleton King 2020-08-10T16:30:34+00:00close

Hey there, Denizens of the Tower and Traveler friends!

This is a level 3 adventure in delve format about an ancient mausoleum everyone knew was there but ignored. One day the doors opened and a bunch of undead came out and attacked the populace. The town council hired a small group of brave adventurers who went inside to fix the problem. However, none of them returned after a few days and the council needs to hire someone else.

Deep in the ancient mausoleum, a bygone king of a forgotten realm awaits at his throne, issuing telepathic commands to his undead subjects. The skeleton king made an arcane deal to become immortal. It cannot be killed but the ritual of slumber can send it back to sleep for a couple hundreds of years.

Thanks to the support of our followers on Patreon. This resource is made available to all as a promo-offering for all. We create cartographic material and TTRPG adventures like this one 8-10 times a month. In addition, it is all compiled in the Dungeon Vault Magazine once a month.

Check out our wares and have a nice TTRPG game on the house! Until the next one, Elven Tower.

Dungeon Delve format Adventures for DnD5e 2020-08-06T17:48:34+00:00close

We're trying something new this month. We always loved the dungeon-delve format from DnD 4e. It was a cool way of portraying dungeons and encounters where the whole thing always took a single page or a two-page spread (see above).

In book format, it was really cool because you had everything you needed on the page, and turning to the next page was a completely different section, dungeon, or encounter. We're gonna try doing this in a 2-page format this month and end up with a nice compilation of dungeon delves.

If you like this, consider joining our Patreon page to know more about this!

We expect your opinions, feedback, and criticism on this new venture. BTW the maps and variants remain the same. This experiment is only about adventure length and how it is portrayed in a two page format.

Thanks for your support this month, we appreciate it wholeheartedly.

Denizens of the Tower!

We're closing this month with a goblin lair inside a dried-out water well. A recent earthquake shifted the flow of underground currents and the well dried out. A bugbear and a community of goblins found the place and built an elevator contraption to access the three lower levels. They've made plenty of modifications to the place since they arrived. Unfortunately for them, their way of life shall be their undoing. They have recently decided to target a nearby village. They steal loaves of bread, rations, and sacks of grain. It went unnoticed for a while until they decided to steal poultry and pigs. The villagers caught them red-handed and fought back.

Some of the villagers didn't make it but they managed to drive off the goblinoids. Now they offer a bounty of gold and silver for valiant travelers who manage to track the goblins back to their lair and erase them from the village's vicinities.

Thanks for your support this month, it is greatly appreciated. Until the next one, Elven Tower.
