Hey guys! This month devlog delayed quite a bit.
I've been working in the prologue are and everything I need for it.

New attack animation progress, Hair flow.
This new animations are looking good! I wish I had the skills to do this from the start. But I guess we have to climb step by step.

I'm really happy with it, but I'm still struggling with the speed of animations to make the combat feel good.

Crawling re-addition mechanic.
Those who played very early versions of the game will remember crawling. It was a thing long ago, but I ended up removing it because I felt it was useless, well, I'm adding it again and rewrote the code entirely, so it works way better now. (the gif above was the first stage.)

There's an In/Out object to enter crawling state, this was simple to make, not a big deal.
But there's the next thing that I'm proud of.

Climbing up.
Yes, you can now climb up from a ledge (only if there's no solids above.)
But what's more, you can climb up to enter crawling! This was a really fun to work in, and opens a whole new world in level design.

Shatter Dagger. (New usable)
This new usable works perfect to take down enemies on distance, but their main purpose is to shatter these big blocks of cracked rock.

New Biomass sprite. A new Biomass.
I remade (again) the biomass sprite, now to something that fits what I originally wanted, a palpitating thing that grows around the island. (Someone suggested for it to throw poisonous smoke when attacked).

Dust.
Someone should clean this place! I added this dust mechanic to blocks, nothing too fancy, but it gives the game world some ambience.

Looped rooms/changing maps.
I wanted to do stuff like this for a long time, I find it really interesting.

So the idea of a Illunionist Boss did sound really interesting. Stay tuned for news c:

New NPC.
Hilda, the captain of the guard of Locktown. (I know it was Garret, but I decided to let Garret be the "mayor" of the town, and let Hilda care about protection.)
She's tough, serious and determined. She wont let anyone or anything harm the good people of Locktown.

Perks concept idea.
One of you guys suggested that upgrading stats could unlocks Perks, so stats have more use than just increase certains stuff like HP or Damage done.
I really liked the idea and started working in it. The idea is having 3 perks per stat, and be able to max only 2 stats up to level 40. So you can't get all the perks, meaning you'll have to choose to max 2 stats, or spend stats in multiple stats to get way more perks (since the last perks cost too many points to get.)

As you can see in the bottom-left, you start with stats at 15, and only need to spend 2 points to reach 17, where the first perk will be unlocked. So maybe it's better to spend points in various stats to unlock a lot of perks, than havint to spend 9 points in 1 single stat to unlock the last perk. It's all up to you.

I hope you're having a great time! now that summer is going away here, I'm eager to be able to sleep nice again.

Hey guys! This took me long not because it was hard, I keept getting distracted with game dev, lol. I just wanted to do ingame stuff. But I managed to finish it. Making cumsies action on 3 PPs was so annoying.
Also! The Full version f*cked up the colors for some reason, Photoshop does some weird stuff when the gif is too long.

Hello everyone! Progress has been kinda "slow" lately, more like the stuff I'm working on doesn't produce that much stuff to show.

There was an attempt to make room transition Zelda-like, but sadly I can't make it look good, so I dropped it.

NPCs moving via commands stored in Arrays is working as intended. With this I can make cutscenes where NPCs move around and not just stand still.
And talking about NPCs, the templates are also seeing progress.

Talk animation. For dialogue scenes, or, maybe for NPCs to talk with each other (?)

Attack animations, yes, NPCs can fight! Maybe at some point you have to fight by their side?

An updated run animation. I made Zoria move her hips, I think it looks better now :D

I'm also using this new attack animations to redo Zoria's, (Bouncy)

A new area (Prologue)
I was tired of only Forest too! This new area for the prologue takes place before you get to the Island. And you'll be able to explore a bit while learning the basics.

Cutscene progress, Chocolo portrait.
This Zoria sleep portrait is so cute and I'm sad I wont be using it more.

A new breakable to stop you.
Spike vines grow everywhere, beware!

Breakable Bamboo cane.
This one doesn't stop you or anything, it's just fun to break stuff. (In games.)

Reworked Eros bags. They now have different animations when falling and hitting ground.
They also have a chance to drop coins when landing.

Chests now have a mount of money that decreases as the money pops out.
Just a small detail.

Breakables update.
I reworked the box sprite, and added a broken version when you break them. So much breakable stuff in this devlog. o.o

Talk about steroids.

Roll sprite rework.
As many other animations that were made long, long ago, I decided to remake this one.

New enemy - Parsels + first concept.
A new enemy joins the troops, this little guys look cute and happy, but they'll eat you if you let them.

I had to change their stick to the other hand in order to make the attack animation.
Made their huts/houses with the bamboo you saw before.
This enemy will be first found in the tutorial area.

They throw rocks at you! They're not that hard to avoid, but It can get hard when there's more than one of them throwing rocks.

I think this is all for now! I made more than I though.

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a good summer so far (if it's summer where you live.)

NPCs, we all know them, they're are in almost any game, they fill the game world to make the game feel alive.

I want my NPCs to feel alive, or, at least, feel like they're more than statues.

In order to archieve this, I'm going to give NPCs a list of actions to execute in order, using a few arrays. With this new mechanic, Cutscenes will have more than NPCs just standing looking at each other.
And this also works for outside of the cutscenes, giving NPCs a loop of actions to do.

My principal problem with this is that making the Templates for NPCs takes a long, long time, as you may notice for the lack of updates lately. I'm really sorry about this, but I think I need to do this in order to improve the game.

With this said, once the basics are done, I'm going to be working on a starting cutscene+gameplay area for the start of the game, No more waking up in a cell without knowing where the F are you.
In this starting area, you'll meet Chocolo, your best friend, and play in a tutorial area while helping Chocolo to move forward.
I think this will help players to understand more what are they looking for in the island once you wake up in the cell.

Bonus: As you may know, I'm working on this Summer Wallpaper, maybe it's not a good thing to lose time drawing there things, but you know me c:
I'm really sorry for not being able to add all the girls, it does take me a long time to draw.

Sorry that I don't have that much to show lately! I'm not being lazy I swear. It's just that this stuff I'm working on don't produce that much stuff to show.

Hello! I'm sorry it took me so long to make this next Devlog. Sometimes I don't have that much stuff to show so it's not worth to make a new one.

Portal to the Town.
At some point in story, Eve Lockhart will develop a device capable of opening a portal into the city. Based on The Ancients technology. This device will allow you to return to the city quickly, and be able to return to where you were without having to walk.

Since Eve just plays around with this technology, this portal is quite unstable, and seems kinda dangerous, don't worry, it won't kill you, I think. Here's a video for the portal sound.

New Camera movement.
I remade some of the camera coding (again) and now it goes smoothly to a certain point, making cutscenes look way better!

Meat mechanics.
When you kill some monsters, you get meat, and if you don't want to waste potions, you can just wait next to a campfire, and Zoria will sit down and cook the meat, then eat it!
-Each meat has 4 charges until consumed.
-Meat only needs to be cooked everytime a new one is used.
-Meat will heal more depending of your level.

New Grass.
Not much to say about this, just remade the grass, I feel like the old one didn't have that much of a texture.

New Bandit AI.
Bandits are not monsters, they're humans/elves/orcs. They can think, well, more or less. So it makes sense they'll be able to follow you around and say stuff about your firm booty.

Not necessary, but I made small differences between the races, in how much they can jump, how strong they are, etc.

A cutscene in progress.
You know, every good rpg has to start with you waking up, and has to have a fishing minigame.

This cutscene will also show us a version of Zoria after waking up.

I don't know about you, but I'd be looking up for bed time. ALL DAY.

Chocolo.
This cutscene will introduce us to Zoria's best friend and adventure partner, Chocolo, originally named Robert Marley (No relation with Bob Marley).
-'Chocolo' is a nickname that Zoria gave Robert when they were children. (Chocolate, maybe it's a bit racist? But Zoria is called Green so idk.)

Darker Darkness.
I added a blue-ish tint to the darkness for a more natural look.

Template NPC animations.
This a big step, it's time consuming, but it's for a good thing, I'm working on template animations for NPCs, Idle, Walk, Run, Jump, Atk, etc.
So I can draw over them for new NPCs in a future, saving a lot of time.

This helped me improve Zoria's Run sprite a bit, making her hips turn around while running.
Never stop improving!

Here's an ingame showcase of it.

I ended up doing more than I expected between Devlogs, hope you made this far!

Hello guys and gurls! It's been a crazy long time since the last Demo, and I'm ashamed about that, times really flies.
I should make more Demos with less updates, but you may get tired if there's not that much new content in them. Idk.

Additions:
-Changed backgrounds, for forest and caves.
-Added a shader for water.
-Remade the camera, AGAIN.
-Rework in how chests work.
-Added charged attacks for both sword and bow.
-Reduced number of attacks in jump attack from 3 to 2, in order to make it less OP, since many players say they just spam this attack.
-Improved idle animation + Sit animation.
-Changed eating meat animation (When closer to a campfire and having meat.)
-Increased Eyebats speed from 3 to 4.

I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting a lot, but you can take a look at these Devlogs I made about new changes!

QUICK NOTE: You can't play with your old Data. (Because new variables added to SAVE&LOAD)

Let me know what do you think of the basic Bandits for now.

For those who never played the game yet, here's a quick tutorial of how to play:

Z: Jump. (Keep press for a high jump, release to cut the jump.)
X: Attack, there's no charged attack, for now.
A: Shield, the shield is a mechanic I havent work too much in, In fact, I'm not sure about keeping it. (I don't really imagine Zoria using a shield.)
C + Direction: Roll, maybe the most important mechanic for combat. Rolling isn't free, it consumes some stamina, and you can't roll without it, so keep the rolls under control when in combat. Rolling makes you immortal agaisnt certain attacks, you can also cancel your attack with a roll, Make sure you practice a bit before going full Crazy Orc on enemies
S: Spell, it doesn't do damage, and changing elements and spell type doesn't work for now.

Sitting near campfires + Secret mechanic. 2020-06-04T18:34:39+00:00

Hey guys, some of you may know this already. Ingame, if you stay idle for a few seconds near a campfire, Zoria will sit down, and, if you're damaged and have meat in your inventory, she'll start eating it, healing up, so you don't have to waste your limited potions.

Right now I'm on my way to redo this animations to make them look better.
And, when making the new sitting animation + meat stand appear, a question popped in my mind.

Should the meat be raw, and have to be cooked for a few seconds before Zoria starts to actually eat it?
It would make you lose a few seconds, but give the game a lot more of ambient/immersion I think. After all, it's a secret mechanic to heal up.
Notes: Each meat has 4 charges, meat would only cook up if the meat is complete, if you stand up and sit at some other time, if your meat was already cooked, and half eaten, the animation wouldn't play again (cooking). Only for new, full pieces of meat.

Your thoughs on this?

Imo, for a secret mechanic, the extra immersion is worth it. Imagine the impact of discovering that feature, and then the extra hit of discovering the additional detail. It's like a secret within a secret. If players are interested in fast healing, presumably they wouldn't be using this mechanism for that purpose anyway.

Hello there! It's time for some progreso.
I'm currently working on many things at once so I don't get burned from one. So I can keep jumping from one to another.

Bow Mechanics.
I almost finished bow mechanics, I have to fix some minor bugs but everything is working!
I think this new mechanic will make bow users be able to save ammo instead of having to use a lot of them.

Water improvements.
Added bubbles when entering water to make it looks better. I still have to add SFX and such, but I'm pretty happy with how it looks!

Chests system rework.
Until now, chests were always in the same spot no matter what, even if they were in a hard place to reach.
With this new mechanic, where there should be a chest, there's an Object (Chest area) that will spawn; Nothing, Chest or a Mimic, depending if you're level 4 or more.
This makes the LUK stat way more important, since it'll affect how often chests appear, and also can prevent mimics from appearing.

Mimics.
Everybody loves Mimics, right? This is my own version, a little more tentacular.
As for their loot, I think they deserve to have a really good loot, since you have to fight for it.
Maybe higher chances for potions/usables and rings?

Watcher.
I made this enemy design long ago, They're literally dark spirits caged up, designed to seek and destroy. Very simple, but dangerous.
Their attacks will be mostly electric projectiles and charge towards player.

As for the Mimic, I'm not happy with how the combat turned out for now, so I'll be reworking it a bit in the next days.

The hotsprings drawing is taking quite a bit, and I'm not sure I can finish it :c
Maybe I could rethink of how I want to make it.

Hey guys! Now that I've made charge Bow mechanics, I was wondering if I should add the same for Melee attacks, what do you think about it?
The idea would be to have the same kind of mechanics as the Bow, making Zoria stop in place while charging the attack, then to release it.

Have enemies that have armor and only charge attacks can smash through and break it. Light attacks cause your swings to deflect, flinching you in place for a couple of frames.

Hello guys! How is it going? I'm getting back into my usual game deving rythm again and it feels good! I've made a lot of progress lately, Hope you like it!

New kinds of traps
It's always fun to encounter different kind of traps around, so I'm working on implementing more of these, so you have a hard time exploring around <3.

Water shader
This is a big implement, it took me several hours to make it work, but I'm happy with it.
Overall is just an aesthetic change, but it makes underwater look way better!

As you can see, it took me a while to figure out how to make it work properly, Pretty sure because I suck at coding.

So many tries and tests. But in the end, I managed to make it work!

Bow mechaics update
Bow now charges when you hold the arrow for a while, making it deal way more damage. A good way to save up ammo while dealing way more damage! But it may not be useful agaisnt certain enemies.


What I'm working on right now and future plans?
-I have to finish this new Bow mechanics.
-Level design.
-Melee charge Atk (?)
-Keep working on Worm Boss.
-Story progress.

Hello guys! I hope you're safe, this lockdown is hitting me hard, I feel so much anxiety lately.
I don't have much to show and my last post was several weeks ago, I apologize for it.

Worm Miniboss
Remaking code of this Boss I had around, and finally doing the sprites for it. This Boss is not story based one, wich means you can complete the game without killing it, it's an optional boss, You'll find it by exploring and entering it's territory.
In my first concept ideas for this Boss, I had in mind for it to inside holes and come out from some other one, I still want to make this, but the code gets kinda messy.

Cave backgrounds.
I remade forest backgrounds not long ago, and now I worked in Caves. I took the liberty to add animated waterfalls to the background.

New eat animations.
The default eat animations were really cheap and lazy, so I wanted to give it more life. I also want to use this for INN eating animations.

John Smith working hard!
John is married to the lovely Jade, and he'll be able to upgrade your sword once you get the right materials!
I love how step by step the town starts to grow in life!

Patron NPC.
Rynn joins the game! It takes me a while to work on this ones but I hope you like them!

I plan of expanding level design more, adding some new traps and new enemies!

Hello guys! Sorry that I didn't make any progress post last month. Here's what I've been working on!

A new mechanic, a world of possibilities.
With this angle throwing mechanic I managed to make, I'll be able to make new enemies, and some other stuff. Yay!

Hurt animation.
Zoria will show her suffering of you being too bad at the game with a hurt animation, when your HP is low. There's also a beep sound you can hear.

NPC reworks.
Some NPCs get outdated as my skills improve, so I have to update them, I try to avoid remaking them from scratch, Like with Elianna that I only remade her face. ♥ ♥ ♥

World design. Using depth.
I'm using depth way more when doing level design, this helps me make a lot in a few layers in the same coordinates. Who knows where could you find secrets?

Story progress.
I'm making good progress with this, I think. I want to make an opening cutscene before you wake up in that cold cell, so you know who're you looking for in your adventure. But not sure if it's a priority right now.

Traveler Merchant.
People have pointed out that it's really hard to get potions back. So I made this merchant you'll find at certain spots of the game, so you can buy potions. (I'll maybe update this merchant so you can buy other usables aswell.)

Backgrounds + Fog update.
I dediced to give it a try and change how the fog looks and backgrounds.
Since a lot of people complained about how the Fog was way too dense.

Alpha Demo 3.2 (Private Demo) 2020-02-02T19:08:05+00:00

It's been way too long since the last Demo build, been trying to work on many things and they're taking a really long time. I hope I can grab a good rythm again.

What has change since the last build? Here's a list of it:
-Added Spells menu, but spells are not fully implemented yet. (Just to show how it works.)
-Map has been added.
-Bandits (New enemies) are being implemented.
-Fixed a lot of major bugs.
-Changed how portraits display in dialogue system.
-Reduced Eyebats speed from 5 to 3.
-Expanded some Forest areas, still in developments.
-Added catacombs areas.
-Scarecrows can now spawn out of ground. (Only at catacombs for now.)
-Added Oxygen system under water.
-Changed how swimming system works.
-Added unlockable Boomerang.
-Added unlockable wallJump upgrade (This may bug when unlocking.)
-Changed how entering town happens.
-Added new story dialogues in town.
-Certain houses are now closed until you progress story.
-Added a hurt animation when low on health + Beeps.

Future plans.
-Finish Spells basics.
-Keep progressing story.
-Not die trying.
-Rescueable NPCs that will unlock certain things at town, or bring lore.
-Optional Boss fights you can find by exploring.

QUICK NOTE: You can't play with your old Data. (Because new variables added to SAVE&LOAD)

Let me know what do you think of the basic Bandits for now.

For those who never played the game yet, here's a quick tutorial of how to play:

Z: Jump. (Keep press for a high jump, release to cut the jump.)
X: Attack, there's no charged attack, for now.
A: Shield, the shield is a mechanic I havent work too much in, In fact, I'm not sure about keeping it. (I don't really imagine Zoria using a shield.)
C + Direction: Roll, maybe the most important mechanic for combat. Rolling isn't free, it consumes some stamina, and you can't roll without it, so keep the rolls under control when in combat. Rolling makes you immortal agaisnt certain attacks, you can also cancel your attack with a roll, Make sure you practice a bit before going full Crazy Orc on enemies
S: Spell, it doesn't do damage, and changing elements and spell type doesn't work for now.

This month flew away pretty fast, but I managed to make some good progress in story and dialogues.

Important cutscenes will start automatically when you enter the area, so you know they're important. (Instead of having to interact yourself.)
As you progress Story, dialogues will change in certain NPCs, other will change what they're doing, etc.

Garret has a basic dialogue until you complete a story task.

Old technology designs.
I finally decided to sit and play around with the designs for this technology that you can find all around Sphelia, an already forgotten civilization left this misterious stuff everywhere, but no one knows what they are for, or how to use them. Eve Lockhart is studying this old tech,
So you'll have to find a few of those while doing her quest-line.

An idea for a gate that allows quick travel.

A new NPC! Just like you and many others, people appear at random places of the island, some of them don't know how to fight, so they'll be doomed if someone doesn't help them.
In your journey you'll be able to find/rescue NPCs, they'll sometimes unlock new stuff at the village, the others will just make a living there.

This NPC in particular will open a small stand where you'll be able to buy some temporary enchants to help your journey. (Ex: More damage, More money, Health Regeneration, etc.)

Sorry that this post is a bit small, I think I wasn't as productive as I wanted, but I'll put more effort!

Oh Boi!!! This took me almost a week to finish! I apology for the lack of game dev progress.
I though of abandoning this piece more than once, but I'm glad I finished it, I hope you like it as much as I do! Or even more!
Nuru is a very new "NPC"/Villain, but I alreayd like her so much.

I'm so proud of myself with this one, it's the first time I get horny with my own work.
I guess that's a good thing!

She doesn't even need her magic to turn you into her slave. What does that say about her?

(I'm starting to number this to keep tracking in them, starting with 1 so it's the first of this year.)

Hello guys! Happy new year! I hope you had a good time with your family or alone.

Bandits.
I'm really liking this enemy concept and what they bring into the game lore.
Deep in development, they're taking a long time to make, due to animations. And also me jumping from one thing to another (Due to inspiration waves.) doesn't help.

I still have to decide where to put their camps and how to design them. But it's a matter of time.

Magic.
The Core works as I imagined it, it's gonna take some time to have it fully implemented and functional ingame, since it's not a must right now.

Traps & Puzzles.
While doing level design, expanding the game world, I'm adding traps and small puzzles around, some may not be solved until you get a certain Usable or skill.

World Design.
This has to be the most importand point so far, since it's what I've been doing the most.
Expanding the Forest, adding some underground catacombs, and working on town design.

Inside this we have the rework of Jade Smith, the Innkeeper.

Is not something I like do t,o (I enjoy doing it.) but has to be done, since many of the stuff was made some time ago, and because I feel I keep improving, some stuff gets outdated.

I'm also working story cutscenes.

Villains & New NPCs.
Nuru - The Acuatic Witch, You may already seen her at twitter or discord, Nuru, along with Khal (Naked Masked Man) are main villains of the game, more like Main minions of the Final Boss.

Richard - Assistant of Eve Lockhart.
Contaminated by Dark Energy by accident in one of the many experiments of Eve.

Eaters hanging from chains. Main source of meat in the village. (Expect quests asking for Meat, and skin.)

Hello guys! I've been kinda inactive this days because of Star Wars movie and also been taking a few days off for XMas. (I feel bad about not being productive :c)

One of the biggest additions to the game I'm working on. Bandits.
They're just another kind of enemy, or that's what it looks like at firsts.
It gives the game a new look of how things work in the island.
Not everyone who ends up in the island is a good person, and this kind of people tends to group up so they're stronger.
Q: What does this mean for the gameplay?
A: Means you'll find small campaments around the island with this bandits, they'll be always in groups, so they wont be easy to defeat (Maybe some of you may want to avoid them.)
But they'll also have goods in their camps, Chests with gold and goods.
I also want to add some Bigger Settlements with Story, having Bandits with prisoners you can rescue. Or missions where you have to recover something from them.

Bandits come in different Shapes & Colors. Their behavior wont change but they won't look the same. (I'm also thinking of making Female versions!)

Quick NOTE: I'll make a Devlog only for Bandits soon, I want to get more deep into their stuff, as for example how much Gore should I go with them. I mean, I already have this thing.
So I guess some heads in spears wont be a problem. Would them?



This will also implement the Raid Areas in the game. (I just came up with the name.)
What is this? Their camps will have a Core object that spawns all the bandits and treasures.
But this object wont be active everytime you enter the room. Lets say this object has a Cooldown so they can spawn again. Unless it's a Story area, in wich case they'll always spawn.

Don't get me wrong, Bandits are going to change how the island works a bit. But the Dark monsters are still the main plot of the game.

XMAS is already here! Are you going to celebrate with your family? I hope you have a great time! I want to draw something for this XMAS, but I'm feeling a lack of inspiration lately. I'm sorry about that. I think pushing myself to make wallpapers with many girls is tiring me a bit.

Maybe I should stick to only Zoria picture as I used to.
What do you think?

I almost forgot! I'm also adding new Areas in between the Forest, so expect new areas to explore in the next Demo! I'm actually "close" to it.

Cheerful, innocent, she likes to talk a lot and gets excited easily. Doesn't like to stay in the same place for a long time. Used to be insecure and shy as a Kid due to bullying.
Has been traveling since she was 16 years old with her best friend Chocolo and loyal but bitter companion, Dhorgos.

Zoria was found as a baby in the forest by Jonas, a kind and calm doctor in Garris' Village.
A village in the mountains. Jonas adopted Zoria and raised her as his own kid.
As she grew older, Zoria developed a great interest in adventure stories, and little by little she began to want to leave the village and live his own adventures and explore the world.

She never questioned where did she come from and why was she abandoned as a baby. She's grateful to her adoptive family.

Her unique clothing design was a gift from Yinsen, an old man, owner of a giant tower filled with thousands of books, She loves her clothes, and has been fixing them all over the years.

In her first adventure, she lost what it was her first love, Kaito. A lonely guy from her village.
She admired his determination, and skill with the sword. And from that moment, she carries his sword as a tribute.

She never had a relationship with anyone. Her first and unique kiss was with Kaito. Moments before he died.

She sees Chocolo as an older brother, since he has always protected her, and was one of the few who did not make fun of her.

Zoria loves to eat well cooked meat, she could eat a whole wild boar after a long day of fighting and climbing. Even if she's not that smart, she knows her limits and is amazed at other's people intelligence.

Age: 18.
Time on Island: Just arrived.

This takes some more time to make new animations, but would be interesting for players to discover how many different kind of deaths you can have.

Hello guys, It's hard for me to keep track of what's new and what not after a while, so I though of making small update posts with new stuff I make. Maybe save them as draft if it's not enough material.

Now that my personal issues seem to be going away slowly (Forerver I hope.) I'm taking the rythm of working in the game full energy again.

As you may know, I ended up redoing water mechanics in terms of how Zoria interacts with it.

No more buggy swimming, classic Sonic underwater mechanics it's the future.
I felt like Zoria not being able to swim is really cute. (I'm pretty sure someone said that.)
How much underwater gameplay is there going to be?
-Not that much, it's not going to be a Game Area per se, (Fortress, Catacombs, Forest, etc.)
In your journey you'll find water from time to time, and areas that are
flooded. I'm aware that barely no one likes underwater levels so I'll keep them on a low profile. (They're also perfect to hide secret areas.)

Monsters Texture, A must right now?
I know having unfinished sprites around feels messy in a big part of showing it to ppl.
But seeing how much time this takes, is it a must to finish them right now? Something I'm thinking about. (I'm open to hear your opinions.)

Catacombs. Filled with bones, lost soulds, the perfect place for a Necromancer, uh?
There are going to be located in the underground of Lobregum's Fortress. (Where you start the game.)
Filled with traps,
secret passages and hidden treasures.

I want to apologize for my failure with Halloween wallpaper, It was not a good time for me, plus the public Demo, but I don't want to use that as an Excuse.

Water levels, we all love them, right? Slow movement, chance of dying out of air... :D

Sonic music

I know it doesn't sound that much fun, but I want to include those in the game too.

Each point of ENDurance will add 3 extra second of air to the default time (60 seconds right now, but may change it as I play test.)

Underwater Area features:
-You move slower. (all animation are slowed down, even attacks.)
-You jump higher.
-You have a limited Air capacity.
-Fire type weapons wont work (Alchemy fire)

Planned features for Underwater Areas:
-Areas where you can recover air. (Kinda like sonic?)
*-Maybe an usable that recovers your air, (Like some kind of air potion(?))
-Add enemies that live underwater.

And now, I have a question for you about getting out of Air and dying.
Should it insta kill you? Deal X damage over time?
It's up to you to decide!

Hey guys! I'm so happy with how the public Demo turned out!
You may be wondering what are my plans from now on. if so, here you have some information about it!

First of all, know that I'm comissioning a title screen! I'm really exited with this!

While I'm still fixing bugs ppl find in the Demo, I already have plans for the near future.

-Crawling.
Yes, some of you may know that crawling was already a thing in older Demo builds, but I ended up removing it. But this time I'm going to edit this mechanic so player will automatically enter into crawling stance when you go near a small hole and press direction forward to it for a few steps. As suggested, Zoria will be able to crawl into small spaces but not turn around. (And also not able to fight.)

-Magic.
Magic... some of you may remember this, and I made a quick concept art of what I had in mind for it.

Here you have 2 wheels with icons,
One it's the spell type (Left), changing your spells to different kind of attacks, Ex: multiple projectiles, a continuous beam, ground crawling. Barrier, etc.
And the other (Right) it's the element, wich changes the elemental property of this spell types, and how they behave aswell.

"So, how does it work? How do we get Spell Types and Elements?"
-You'll be able to find scrolls around, buy or obtain them. But you'll get a basic Element + Spell Type on a small "tutorial".

"Wont magic make things too easy?"
-Magic is a really powerful "weapon" to have, but isn't unlimited. So you wont be able to spam spells like nothing.

-Town Rework.
-I have plans to change how the town design works.
Right now The town is made in different height systems, and I don't like it at all.
Also fill it with NPCs all around.

-World Design & Monsters.
Now that the public Demo is out, I can finally focus again on the world design, expand new areas and work on new monsters.

Help me decide one!

I'm also open to suggestions!

After this I'll try to make an official Title screen.

"Journey" is a bit overused. You could do "Amazing Zoria" just for that alphabetical order bump. 😁

Alpha Demo 3.0 (Public Demo) 2019-10-27T20:32:23+00:00

It's finally here! This version of the Demo will the the public one after one week!
It's still an alpha, but I'm proud of what I archieved so far, and all thanks to your help and support!

What has change since the last build? Here's a list of it:
-Added info to Usables and Items.
-Added
quest system. (Only 1 quest avaliable right now.)
-Added Soul fountainsto recharge your Soul (Still no game over, I may add it for the public Release.) https://www.patreon.com/posts/souls-lives-30958790
-Changed Face Cube boss Sprite (Phor-Oh).
-Fixed a lot of small bugs.
-Added some extra Zoria voice lines. (Yawning, healing.)
-Final credits scene when completing the Demo.
-Fixed major bugs while using Inventory + doing something else.
-Don't forget to press
T to dance.
-Disabled the Shield because you shouldn't have it yet.

What's your objetive in this Demo?

Kinda as before, you wake up in the cell, and you have to reach the Town, but this time there're some changes in the start area.
(Let me know what you think of the starting area with all the decoration.)

Hunt for the bugs you can find and report them! It helps a lot!

QUICK NOTE: You can't play with your old Data. (Because new variables added to SAVE&LOAD)

I have a hard time fighting Eater in the Eater Tunnels, let me know if they need some tweaking in terms of combat mechanics!

For those who never played the game yet, here's a quick tutorial of how to play:

Z: Jump. (Keep press for a high jump, release to cut the jump.)
X: Attack, there's no charged attack, for now.
A: Shield, the shield is a mechanic I havent work too much in, In fact, I'm not sure about keeping it. (I don't really imagine Zoria using a shield.)
C + Direction: Roll, maybe the most important mechanic for combat. Rolling isn't free, it consumes some stamina, and you can't roll without it, so keep the rolls under control when in combat. Rolling makes you immortal agaisnt certain attacks, you can also cancel your attack with a roll, Make sure you practice a bit before going full Crazy Orc on enemies

This goes live in 1 week, so I hope It's time enough to polish everything way more!
