Hello! Thank you for using yiff.party!

We hope you enjoy using it. yiff.party operates on a non-profit basis, and as such, all the server expenses are paid by our users. We don't want to run ads or infect you with crypto miners. We depend on users like you to keep the site running, and to preserve years and terabytes of amazing content—some of which is no longer available from its original creators!

Because of the nature of the site, many users are reluctant to donate. That's OK! yiff.party was created so everyone can enjoy the content we host without any restrictions or paywalls. But if you value the service we provide, and are able to, we—and our users—would be tremendously grateful if you considered making a donation.

Donation progress for January 2020

So far, approximately $182.48 has been raised out of our target of $280.00. We're about 65% of the way there! Please note: this tracker is updated manually—don't worry if your donation doesn't show up immediately!

yiff.party's server costs are due on the last day of each month. So, we need to meet this goal before 31 January!

How to donate?

At this time, yiff.party can only accept donations in numerous cryptocurrencies. Please select a currency below to display the relevant donation address.

Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum Classic (ETC)
Litecoin (LTC)
Why can't I donate through other means (eg. PayPal)?

Due to the nature of sites like yiff.party, it is very difficult to find payment processors who will accept clients like us. If we were to accept donations via PayPal, it wouldn't take more than a day for someone to submit an abuse report and get our account frozen. Until a viable way of accepting monetary donations becomes available, cryptocurrency will remain the only option.

There are many resources available on how to purchase crypto. For Bitcoin, check out bitcoin.org's page on buying Bitcoin for a list of methods. For beginner Bitcoin users, yiff.party recommends using an escrow service such as LocalBitcoins.

ITS DONE!

Holy crap this one has taken me awhile to finish. I started it last october I think and now its finally done. There are so many details on this map its ridiculous and its huge as well. Easily capable of running an entire chapter of an adventure around.

It's worth mentioning that this map was made for a slightly more advanced setting than traidotal D&D. The bathrooms contain toilets and sinks and a modern kitchen layout. The mao will work fine, in settings like Eberron and can still be used as a very rich nobles manor in other settings, but really I made this for Call of Cthulhu.

The idea was to create a really detailed and amazing map to explore with a creepy vibe and I think I managed to do it!

Quick note!

Hopefully this map is not too dark. I was worried about that for awhile but each of the actuall playable rooms are pretty good when you zoom in!

In the downloads you can find gridded versions, gridless versions and a rain version plus a line art version :)

Well this took far longer than I thought but I finally got round to colouring these assets!

(Seems to be trend these days... )

Anyway!

Included in this free pack are a whole host of village, town, city and environment assets for making your own maps! All of them are fully coloured and I threw in a few mountains and hills because you can use them to work out scale for the rest of the terrain.

Project Deios is going to be the focus this year, which will of course mean, I'll be drawing many, many, many assets but those will be for Deios specifically. I might throw a few of the more basic ones slightly redrawn into version 3.0 of the Map Icons pack though ;)

This is fantastic! I love your world maps, but have always felt that nothing short of colored icons (made by you the artist) would be suitable for your beautiful maps. This post is a gift that can be given to all your previous world maps. Thank you so very much for taking the time to do this!

Streaming Schedule 2020-01-03T20:03:46+00:00

This post is pretty simple, these are my new streaming times that I will be sticking to as much as possible starting on the 7th of January.

Streaming Times

Tuesday 8pm GMT

Wednesday 8pm GMT

Thursday - Gaming Night

Saturday 8pm GMT

Sunday 8pm GMT

One of the ways that I’m going to try and stick to streaming is by continuously working on a project when streaming and then doing other maps in between. Now the idea for these streams and the maps I produce can be quite large as I’ll be working on them for a long time so I’m going to try and map out existing properties from games, movies, tv-shows, etc that I love personally.

Below is the list of maps that I would love to draw and I’m interested to see what people would really like to see as well! :)

New Year, New Schedule & Feedback Poll! 2020-01-01T20:00:02+00:00

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!

I have now been making maps and other bits for two years (ish) and in 2019 I had what can only be described as a fantastically successful year. I made a map for Critical Role (Probably the highlight of last year actually), I was part of a Kickstarter that made €421,985, and Project Deios is shaping up to be a gamechanger for making maps in the future. I worked for Wizards of the Coast by playing two characters in a live show of Dungeons and Dragons with Guy, Janet, Micheal, Mharie and Jenny! I’ve made tons of maps that I am seriously proud of and I can now see my own style and way of making maps really coming together. KTech has now joined me and is working on making creatures tokens and other bits and pieces behind the scenes. I started making tutorial videos even though they are quite basic that is something I’m really excited to continue!

All stuff I was making last year will continue this year, maps, tokens, streams videos etc. Everything will carry on and I will be doing and working on a few new things. A big part of this year of course is the creation of assets for Project Deios which will start coming online in a very early form sometime in March (Don't hold me to that date, I’m not in charge of the release schedule :D)

Break Time

Over the last month I have been taking a bit of a break and not focusing too much on work, mainly doing a few little bits and organizing/planning etc. I’ve been very quiet on the discord and social media which is just my way of switching off. I’ve also been ill and while I’m not going to go into too much detail, it's thankfully nothing serious. However it's definitely contributed to my downtime and burn out.

I’ve always tried to be up front about this kind of thing because, despite being quite a private person and someone that doesn't necessarily express themselves that much. Talking about these things is quite important for anyone else reading this and suffering the same kinds of issues. Taking a break in order to recharge is totally fine and everyone needs a holiday, it happens to the best of us, were not machines after all! :)

KTech

I asked KTech is she wanted to say anything on this post and she said this;

“Beware the token maker who speaks in memes. Perhaps there will be otters. Who can truly say?”

So there you have it, KTech is a wonderful addition to this little map making, ttrpg thing I’ve got going and I love her to bits! She will be continuing to make Creature Tokens in the new year and finishing off the entire Monster Manual! :)

New Schedule!

Posts on patreon will now be coming out slightly later on than they were last year. This is not a major thing but the new time that things will be posted is 8PM GMT (3PM EST, 12 Midday PST). This is a little better for Americans and allows me to work on something a little longer before posting.

Streaming will be back at the same time, so I will be posting things and then going live. I will be making another post in the next few days with a new schedule for streaming but this year I want to stream A LOT. I have a great idea for streaming that will hopefully keep me on track but more details on that later.

Videos will be back and coming out every Friday (Or most Fridays) at the same time as posts. These videos will continue the tutorials on mapmaking and hopefully we can start getting into the nitty gritty details of actually drawing and creating maps from scratch.

This goes without saying but maps of all kinds will start coming out gain this month and will continue forever.

THANK YOU!

This super successful year wouldn't have been possible without the help and support of all my lovely patrons. Your continued support and love is what makes everything possible so from the bottom of my heart, thank you all! And here's to another great year of maps and tokens!

Detailed Feedback

In order to really see what I can improve on or just make more of, I’d love to hear what your favourite post from last year was and why! You can let me know in the comments :)

Feedback Poll

Finally you can vote on a poll for some of the things we will be making this year!

This poll is a general feedback thing, as I’m really interested to see what people would be most excited to see throughout this coming year. We will be doing many of these things regardless so this poll is designed just to see an overall measure of what everyone wants to see the most.

I loved your Dragon Series, so many cool dragons, especially the "none DnD Canon" ones. Loved the Jungle Dragon with the armour and the flower and forest dragon was just amazing. Because they where more "mythical" dragons than usual dragons we get these days. My Favourite Battle Map was probably Serpents Fall because it was unique and different. I already have 10+ Maps of forest clearings but only one Serpents Fall. I just love your special scene maps as they are inspiring adventures all on their own. Yumelia my favourite Campaign Map for similar reasons. Not a normal fantasy map but different and visually interesting. Lot's of other great stuff this year, fantastic map assets, KTech Tokens. So many good things. Looking forward to 2020!

Its awesome to hear more about your process! I think calling some of these failures is a bit harsh though! That forest river map for instance, if you dont like it as a river...well i think with a couple small tweaks it'd be an awesome bridge "over an abyss" type map. switch the river palette to some clouds and sky and you have a pretty different scenario. :) Hope some of these get revisited eventually! And congratulations on a great year of map making!

Today, I’m putting up the last map I made for the blood grotto and releasing it for free, aongside a snow version and black & white version! I also I spent quite a lot of time on this one for a few reasons.

Firstly, I always thought my village/town/city maps were good.. but lacked detail and I saw a few people on twitch using them not only as setting maps but also as battlemaps. Which is fine if you don't mind very small tokens and of course it gives you a huge amount of space. This is especially useful for higher level encounters.

Secondly, I needed to come up with something I was comfortable drawing for Project Deios and if you enjoy this map and think its really nice then good news! This is the base and level of detail that will be used!

If you have joined my patreon recently and have not checked out the Blood Grotto setting that this from then you can now find it on DrivethruRPG. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/296801/Blood-Grotto

It's about the same price as on my website (in fact it's a little cheaper) and buying it on there is super helpful because its more visible especially if you leave a comment/review

In other news I’ve been a bit sick recently which is why there have been no streams or videos but it's given me a chance to chill out and relax over the christmas period and recharge ready for next year :)

Page 25 : "Wormford is the unfortunate result of hard deadlines! It was going to have more content in the setting but in order to get the PDF sent off to print, things had to be cut! However the map still made it in, alongside a short description so anyone using the setting to run a game can use Wormford if they need a small little hamlet to explore." I was wondering if that would ever appear in alternate form. No worries if not, love the map and PDF as it is, just curious as the setting has me wanting more.

Thank all for the amazing support and feedback I’ve received so far on the Blood Grotto setting!

Today I'm releasing the map from setting for free so people can just use the map to build their own adventures! I think this is an awesome map for winter regions and you can create some great ideas off the features drawn on this map!

You can find the setting in full on my website (which patrons have codes for)

https://www.caeora.com/product-page/blood-grotto

Its now up on DriveThruRPG as well which I think actually works out a little cheaper and its much more public and visible. If you end up buying it on DriveThru I would really appreciate reviews and comments! :)

Since coming back from Dragonmeet (which was amazing and I got to meet and talk with so many amazing people) I’ve been taking a bit of a break to rest and recharge my batteries a little bit but things are carrying on in the background on multiple map ideas and projects and I will be getting back into the swing of things soon!

Mapmaking Basics: Inspiration Artwork 2019-11-15T18:18:45+00:00close

Thinking about the title, this video should have been Inspirational Artwork...

Opps.

Oh well! Today is Video Friday and another mapmaking basic video is out, to talk about gathering artwork to use in the mapmaking process. This video isn't actually as long as I thought it would be but there are alot of related themes to build upon. Like how to create your own colour palette using the art you have gathered and using art as actual reference images for maps, but that can come later! :)

Please let me know if there is anything you would like me to cover and what you think of the videos so I can continue to improve on things!

Updated Content Use Agreements. 2019-11-12T23:09:47+00:00

Hello everyone!

Today I'm going to go over a few changes to my agreements for my work going forwards.

Thankfully nothing much changes on the whole but a few things are going to be made clearer and available to read whenever on my website FAQ and my patreon FAQ over the next few days, barring any edits.

Free License Agreement

The Free License Agreement applies to content publicly available that is clearly marked as free content. You may print and use this content such as maps and tokens at home for your tabletop games. You may also use any free content online in virtual tabletops such as Roll20, Fantasy Grounds or Foundry VTT. You may use free content to create non-profit products such as adventures, settings, worlds on sites such as World Anvil.

You may also use any both free and exclusive content from higher tiers that you have access to on streaming services such as Twitch or Youtube etc.

Credit must be included in any instance of the content being used.

All content, unless specifically stated as licensed content are and will remain the property of Caeora.

Small Commercial Use Agreement

The Small Commercial Use Agreement in this context is applied to anyone supporting me at the Dragon Tier on patreon.

You may use any content that you have access to both free and exclusive in commercial products. Anything made in small quantities by an individual or small business (i.e. websites, online articles, modules, adventures, settings etc) are covered under this agreement.

You can use content in almost all projects related to tabletop RPG’s this includes but it not limited to modules, adventures, campaigns etc sold on sites such as the DM’s Guild, DrivethruRPG etc.

If at any time you end your pledge to the Dragon Tier on patreon you may not produce any new products using my content. Older products created while you were a Dragon Tier patron remain covered under this agreement.

Credit must be included in any instance of the content being used.

All content, unless specifically stated as licensed content are and will remain the property of Caeora.

Restrictions

You are not authorized to use these files for redistribution in part or whole for free or for sale as art or part of an art collection, for print-on-demand designs, or mass distribution/production.

This small commercial use agreement does not apply to any crowdfunding campaigns. If you are running a large business (Large business in this case is a company making over $25,000 annually) or kickstarter, and intend to mass produce books that include my art you will have to discuss this with me to work out either a paid license to do so, or my permission.

This is very dependant on the project and its best to email me at Caeora@gmail.com.

Open Dialogue

This is an ongoing effort to make my agreements clear and easy to understand but this does not mean that they are set in stone just yet. If you can see any potential problems or issues with the wording discussed in this post then please let me know and I will do my best to explain or change things around. If you have any questions I will answer them in the comments and may include them in the FAQ for future reference. I have a few example questions below :)

Q. If I am a Dragon Tier patron can I use a map you made a year ago in a product on the DM’s Guild?

A. Yes! Absolutely.

Q. I have multiple products on DrivethruRPG that contain your content but I can no longer afford to remain a Dragon Tier patron. Does that mean I have to remove your content from those products?

A. No. Any products that you made and put up on a site for sale are still covered, you just can't make any new products using my content going forwards.

Creature Packs: CR 0 2019-11-05T18:00:03+00:00close

Woohoo, this is finally here!

I wanted to draw the entire 5e Monster Manual as tokens for ages! It’s a big time commitment, there are hundreds of monsters and creatures to draw throughout the book and many have great detailed artwork that is kind of hard to translate to my current style.

However KTech (My amazing partner) stepped up to the plate when I asked what she would like to work on and drawing tokens is something she has taken on board really well and managed to match my style of maps so that everything fits together!

Ktech has drawn this first set, and coloured everything.. this is all her work! PLUS CR1/8 is all drawn out and being coloured soon so these packs should be out regularly!

Hey these are awesome! What's the license on these things? The guys over at Foundry VTT are shipping an SRD with their game and it would be really cool to have tokens for the monsters available in some way.

Monthly Update: October 2019 2019-10-31T18:01:01+00:00

Monthly Update: October 2019

Phew this month has had a bunch of cool things happening and getting finished up and there are loads of things in the works as well!

The Past Month

Maps

While not quite finished yet the main battle map this month is the Grimbrand manor map which is coming along! You can see the progress below but I’m loving how it's turning out!

In addition all the forest maps i've done recently now have variant colour of autumn, spooky and winter which you can see here if you are a veteran patron.

Dragon Pond

Crystal Mine

Sacred Grove

Assets

Another two assets packs were released this month, the battlefield and the building materials assets, these packs expand and combine everything before them and you can make a ton of locations now for your games. On that note I ran the first asset contest as well which was a fantastic success and I was thrilled with the amount of entries and the winner was an amazing looking map!

First Assets Contest

Battlefield

Building Materials

Compassess

I’ve created a new compass design this month (actually 3) but the first one was finished and released for all my Dragon tier patrons and the improvement from some of the old ones is pretty awesome. I’m getting happier and happier with my line art!

Magic Compass

Updated Website

Another task that took me a little while this month was updating and streamlining my website. Its now much sleekler with some parts being moved around, the store is now capable of new things like coupon codes and discounts etc.

On that note, if you want to get your hands on the Magic compass from above and you are not a Dragon tier supporter you can use the code below to get £1 off the order of the Magic Compass at the checkout! :D

Coupon code “MagicCode”

Updated Website

Videos

I have filmed 3 videos now and the first one is coming out tomorrow, that covers making your own grids! These videos will be released every friday at 6pm and at first I’m going to cover some digital map making basics and tips and then move onto other subjects and more detailed tutorials down the line! If you have any thoughts on what you would love to see me cover please let me know in the comments of videos or patreon posts when they come out!

Next Month Plans

The biggest things happening next month are continuing my own spooky theme of mapmaking, this is not really a halloween kind of spooky but more of horror type feel and if you saw my stream last tuesday you will know what I’ve been working on in that regard.

I have an asset pack of furniture that is all ready for colour that will be done as soon as the Grimbrand map is finished up!

I will be making more compass roses and some map borders for you to use in your own maps, some of which are done and waiting for some colour.

Dragonmeet 2019

A big event for me coming up at the end of November is Dragonmeet 2019 which is convention here in the UK for ttrpg companies players and fans that I will be going to and hanging out with the wonderful people of World Anvil. If you are going to Dragonmeet you will be able to find me floating around the World Anvil stall :D

I will attempt to bring few prototype handmade merchandise…”things” that will be coming along to Dragonmeet that might be very exciting for anyone that loves that kind of thing, these are not shirts or mugs or prints and are very much map related. If everything goes well I reveal more about that at the beginning of next month!

That's all for me this month, as I’m writing this I think I’m getting a cold so apologies if I don't respond to any msgs for a few days while I go and eat chocolate and play games :)

I love you all very much, have a great day and happy halloween! :D

Here are the next set of assets for anyone looking to build houses and rooms for encounters!

They should all match perfectly with the other assets that I've made and you can combine everything together!

Included in this pack are floors, walls, windows, doors, traps, textures and all the elements you need to need to make the base of a structure.

Furniture is Next! Before anyone asks ;)

There is also a few example building that I made on stream recently to show off the pack but I'll be making some more custom building that use parts of this pack in the future! :D

First Asset Contest: Winners! 2019-10-16T17:06:49+00:00close

The first contest is now over!

Above you can see a gallery of all the maps that I could find that entered into the contest on twitter and here on patreon! I also want to say a huge thank you anyone taking part, this was really fun and I will be doing more of these contests in the future :D

Runners up!

I judged the maps this afternoon with Dimitris from World Anvil and we agreed on some of the best maps entered and an overall winner!

First up there are three runners up, all of whom will be able to request one custom token!

This is a slight change to the contest but I wanted to reward some of the awesome maps that I thought did a really good job with a certain aspect of the process :)

Runner up #1. Foggy Night by Jechols, did an amazing job with the fog and the fires on this map, I can really imagine a band of characters waiting anxiously for some kind of terrifying monster to emerge from the misty forest.

Runner up #2. The Soul in the Stone by James Lorimer, did a great job telling a story with this map, the blood and bones, the position of the corpses and weapons are spot on and coming across this map in a forest would be a fascinating and gruesome encounter..

Runner up #3. By Waters Edge by Marc H. Lindstrom, did such a great job setting a tone and mood with the colours, the dark water the glowing shrine and overall gradient of colours is fantastic. Even though the assets used are minimal its a great map for a lakeshore or ocean encounter!

Overall Winner!

Finally the winner of the contest is Temple Overlook by Atropos from The Foundry!

The map they submitted contained hundreds of rock overlayed on top of one another to create a map I didn't think was possible with the assets I’ve made so far. The bridge height and shadow underneath is gorgeous and the spider nest is scary little den of nope :D

And that's it for this contest, if you were a runner up or the winner please send me a message on discord or twitter with your request and I will have it done over the next week! :D

If you didn't win don't worry, stay tuned for more of these contests soon with other assets I’ve got in the works and I’ll probably increase the rewards in the future to make the contests a little more worthwhile ;)

Thanks again everyone!

Woohoo! That's so awesome, thanks to Caeora for running a fun contest and I'm really happy that you and Dimitris liked my entry. The other submissions are really great too. Now I just face the near impossible task of choosing what I'd like Caeora to draw for me since "all the things" isn't allowed as an option.

First Asset Contest! 2019-10-07T20:06:48+00:00close

Hello everyone!

It's time for our first proper contest!

Make a Map!

The task is simple, if you choose to accept it! Create your own map using Caeora’s Forest, Camp, and Battlefield assets and you might win three custom assets drawn by Caeora himself!

How to enter:

  1. Download the assets from https://www.patreon.com/posts/forest-assets-30088072, https://www.patreon.com/posts/camp-assets-30236771 and https://www.patreon.com/posts/battlefield-30467790
  2. Create an amazing map using the A2 template provided in the Camp pack. You can follow this tutorial by Caeora that explains how: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVyE7jBWZn7rGZ0cFQgqELb612lJFNLiP
  3. Retweet this tweet https://twitter.com/Caeora/status/1181301717549359109 and include your map, no later than the 14th of October, 23:59 BST. (This means you have one week to make a map!)

That’s it! The winner will be announced by Caeora on the 16th of October.

Rules:

  • The map must use the A2 template provided.
  • The map must use only the Camp, Forest, or Battlefield assets. You don’t necessarily need to use every asset or all the packs, just pick whatever you like.
  • You can be as creative as you want with the composition, colors, and scale of said assets, plus you can add any drawing, text and markers you want. However custom drawings will not be taken into account when judging the map
  • You can use any software you want.
  • The time limit for submission is the 14th of October 2019 at 23:59 BST, any submission after the time limit will not be judged.
  • The maps will be judged by Caeora and Dimitris from World Anvil!
  • Submissions that are deemed offensive or inappropriate in any way will be automatically disqualified.
  • The winner will be able to request hree custom tokens to be drawn by Caeora. these could be trees, barrels, otter dens or smaller scale uquie assets to use in creating battlemaps!

Now get on mapping!

(So many thanks to Darquill, who put this contest together!! <3)

OK, I made one. Humans vs Undead Aftermath: Cleaning up the Battlefield, complete with a "Bring out your dead" cart and funeral pyre... and some poor, unfortunate souls. Everything is from the asset packs provided. I put the mud layers under the grass and faded away a road and wheel ruts and boulder trail, lol... fun map to make, maybe Rated R. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EGkzr8rXYAIwG0j?format=jpg&name=4096x4096
Open Call for Suggestions 2019-10-06T16:00:43+00:00

Tomorrow I will be sitting down to go over my list of things to make maps out of. Specifically battlemaps but other kinds of content as well. Although I have a pretty good take on what I'd like to make already and a pretty big list, I really want to see what people want as well.

So!

This is an open call for anyone to share their suggestions & ideas for maps, tokens and other content and let me know in the comments!

This can be anything from the most simple idea like a farmstead, or bridge map, to a more complicated design and idea that requires a lot more work.. like Feywild assets for example ;)

Hopefully, this will let me know if I'm on the right track :)

Cityscape encounters (market, random streets, park, etc) with Waterdeep in mind, Ocean encounters, Travel Caravan Icon for party travel, Army Icons for marking incursions on maps, Quest icons for marking Quest giver, target and location of interest, a series of map tiles for a roguelike world map style of exploration (villages, castles, caves, forest, ocean, etc)

A sci-fi map of the the subsurface ocean of Europa (one of Jupiter's moons) would be pretty cool and unique.

Would love a battle map of the insides of The Maw that you posted a while back, to really complete that set!

I’m currently running a feudal Japan-inspired campaign, so I’d be overjoyed to have anything that would fit an Asian setting.

For something a little different, maybe a World setting with very little metal but also little wood. Lots of strengthen hides, sharpened stone, ceramics, glass and gem stones.?
user avatar
User #18672743 - 6 Oct 19 17:54
A "weird" setting - oddly colored desert, chemically-tinged water, oozes, slimes, molds and tentacled fungi.

Anything clockwork would be awesome.

Feywild, shadowfell, Avernus assets would all be awesome

I'd certainly use Feywild assets!

Personally, I don't have enough Greek/Roman style battlemaps. Whether it's a temple, a polis, or the shoulders of a giant statue of a god, that's my vote.

The interior of a large library would be a versatile and unique map. A town built upon docks would be terrific, in the vein of Booty Bay from World of Warcraft (Pic of the multi-level pirate town for reference: https://gamepedia.cursecdn.com/wowpedia/thumb/e/e5/StV_070910_012413_-_Booty_Bay_-_Kirkburn_12319.jpg/1200px-StV_070910_012413_-_Booty_Bay_-_Kirkburn_12319.jpg ) A town, dungeon, or lair built atop and into the skeletal corpse of a massive giant humanoid creature.
user avatar
User #580205 - 6 Oct 19 18:04
Underdark tile set and modular cavern shapes. Feywild like yes please - but not just wilderness areas. Eladrin cities and courts of the Archfey. Feywild ruins, too. Complicated overland maps, too - a switchback road up a steep mountainside, a waterfall and pool (with cavern behind it, naturally), etc
user avatar
User #47681 - 6 Oct 19 17:30
Would modular hillsides, ridges and cliffs be doable? A lot of stuff I've seen around kinda sticks you with the creators design and requires a lot of extra work to make look... Legible.
user avatar
User #11406151 - 6 Oct 19 18:00
Id like to see some set pieces in the feywilde. There is the occassional trippy forest map out there to rep the fey but...things like the courts of the fey, or a city in the feywilde, or idk...a pixie village? Just less feyforest random encounter and more storytelling locations.
user avatar
User #14592501 - 6 Oct 19 16:04
Regional map tokens. Little cities, towns, etc. Similar to your previous, but colored.
user avatar
User #8939059 - 6 Oct 19 19:58
My proposition might be a bit tricky... but I think it would be really cool with the recent release of Avernus. I play on a TV screen on my table and I'm looking for an ''extra wide'' desert/badland landscape that I would loop to simulate motion during a chase. Kinda like the old Flintstone cartoons when they run but the background is like a bunch of seamless panel repeating over and over again. It's probably alot of work... tricky and ultra specific... it could be really cool I think :)
user avatar
User #744157 - 6 Oct 19 18:39
I second the large library. Maybe something like a "lost" library maybe, which was somehow lost and hidden for decades and got found again... so things could be going on there...

Here are the next set of assets to expand the set!

They should all match perfectly with the forest assets and the camp assets I've released recently! There are now a huge amount of assets, over 300 with all 3 packs, that you can use to make battlemaps and encounters for yourself and I'm only just getting started... ;)

Included in this pack are a ton of different siege weapons, corpses, blood splats weapons and ammunition and I love how some of these look! A colossal thank you to KTech who is once again helping me do some fantastic work and did a lot of the line art for these! :D

There are also two new textures in this pack, a summer grass texture and a mud texture!

Dead bodies!! Sorely needed. It's gruesome to ask, but can we get more bodies and bloodstains? I've struggled when I've had an "Oh no! You stumble on a crime scene!" and my players are like "Cool, where are the bodies....?"

Some blood effects under the dead horses would also be appropriate?
Monthly Update: September 2019 2019-09-30T17:20:33+00:00

Monthly Update: September 2019

This is the first of hopefully many monthly updates on my patreon and these posts will cover the progress of maps, assets, tokens and everything else I’ve been working on and the things still to come!

The Past Month

Region Maps

Two pretty custom and detailed region maps were finished last month, these were the map of Yumleia for the wonderful James Haeck and then the map of Avernus to go along with the release of the latest adventure by Wizards of the coast and to be used for our live stream run by Guy Sclanders on the DnD Twitch channel!

Yumleia

Avernus

Avernus Live Stream

These maps ultimately took a great deal of my time but were well worth it and I can really see from studying them afterwards that my style of mapking is coming together more and more!

Battlemaps

The Sacred Grove was the only battle map released this month, other projects of course delayed production on things but this map was very very successful and if I continue to make maps in that kind of quality I will be extremely happy! :D

Sacred Grove

Assets

Two assets packs were released this month, the forest assets and the camp assets, these were in the works for some time but making sure everything is consistent and the assets themselves actually work together is quite time consuming. That being said I think I now have a good system going and I will be creating a TON of assets in the future. But more on that later ;)

Forest Assets

Camp Assets

Videos

My first little foray into making tutorial videos launched this month and so far I’ve received very positive feedback. The videos themselves went over some simple steps to create your own battle maps using the assets that I’ve produced recently and while short, set the stage for more videos in the future :)

Mapmaking with Assets Series

Critical Role

In unbelievably exciting news for myself personally… I will be making a post in a few days to talk about the Critical role map that was fully unveiled recently! In fact the map itself can be seen in a low res on their online store, where you can buy a game mat of the map!

I’m so blown away by the amount of love I’ve gotten from Critical Role, they have been not only amazing to work with but have been really happy to give me shout-outs and promote the map which gives me such a happy feeling XD

https://shop.critrole.com/products/yee-haw-game-ranch-game-mat

I would love to make a video of the map and the creation of it, as it really encapsulates many of my ideas about techniques for making world maps including some really unique biomes and locations. But we shall see ;)

Discord

Project Deios

Production on Project Deios for me at least has not started yet but some exciting things have been happening in that department.. The voting is close enough to done that I’m now sure of what I’ll be drawing, which is of course very nice to know, and the results were shared on a stream! I won't list them here as there's always a chance there might be changes but I doubt it at this stage. Instead if you want to know anything about Deios, come and ask me on the Discord!

Next Month Plans

There are a ton of cool things in the pipeline next month!

First up, another asset pack will be coming out soon to add another element to the forest and camp assets..

SPOILERS If you like the idea of large scale battles in tabletop RPGs your going to like this pack ;)

In a surprising twist I will be streaming again starting tomorrow for one scheduled day a week. This stream is going to be only scheduled stream right now so that I can stick to it and will mainly focus on drawing and chatting to anyone that wants to come and say hi and show off what I’m working on at the time!

Tuesdays at 8pm BST is the new time for the streams on twitch!

https://www.twitch.tv/caeora

In other media news, I have plans for more videos this month with higher production values. This is still being worked on so I wont say much about this but next month should see the start of a new series.

The theme of next month is going to be spooky.. I have maps and assets being worked on right now on a genre and theme that is very underrepresented by mapmakers and I think it's going to be mind blowing ;)

Lastly I want to say a huge thank you to all of my patrons, I have not made a post about this, but I have been on patreon now for two years last month! And month after month I’m still surprised and honoured to have so many wonderful people supporting me and it's truly the most amazing thing in the world.

I love you all very much, have a great day and happening mapmaking! :D

Here is the final part of making quick maps with the assets that I posted recently!

This video starts to get into a little more nuanced and artistic techniques but they should start to bring the maps together!

I have some plans to do some more videos in the future so if anyone has any feedback then I would love to hear it! :D

And here is the second part of the series where I talk about the assets themselves in a little more detail.

There is one more part to this little mini series and I will post that tomorrow :)

Thanks for this series! Even as a more advanced user, I learned a couple of things. I wasn't aware of the Alt + drag to copy assets; that's going to save me tons of time.

I really want to know what people think and I will do my best to do some more ;)

Here are the next set of assets I've been working on!

They match up perfectly with the forest assets I released a few days ago and I’ve made another texture to go with the pack.

These assets started out as your typical tents and sleeping bags etc, but I started to draw a few more tribal and monster like inspired things as well, including a massive mammoth skull for fun and tons of visual interest :D

You will also find a template for making A2 maps in the downloads as well!

I mentioned on Twitter a few weeks ago that I had caught the Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus bug for the now released adventure by Wizards of the Coast.

One of the reasons for that is that I’m playing for Wizards of the Coast in a livestream run by the Great GM! We played our first game on Saturday and you can check out the Video here is you want to see us bumble around :)

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/485420359

I’m playing a tree thing called Thorn and the artwork by Toni from DungeonFog is amazing :)

The Map

I’ve wanted to draw a region map of the hells for ages and this was such a great excuse, I was really excited to draw such a weird and downright evil looking landscape some of my experiments paid off and some didn't but this is a great map for the region if you want something that looks and feels like a fiery/dusty hellscape of doom and death.

Some of the details on this map should be able to inspire and create encounters all on their own and I even tried to incorporate the cover art from the book in there!

I also did a blue/purple version which turns the whole map into more of an underground evil underdark map which is always nice to have as an option!

So here are the next few assets I'm doing, once again nice and simple for the time being but these will lead to an even greater vaierty once included with the forest assets.

Included with these assets will be a dirt texture that you can see here as well :)

This is a very mobile, camp like set, with a bit of a tribal feel so If anyone has suggestions that will fit the theme, let me know in the comments or on the discord!

Forest Assets 2019-09-19T17:53:42+00:00close

So this is actually version two of my attempt at making forest assets, the last bunch can be found somewhere far far down in my patreon posts. I was honestly not very happy with them and found every excuse to ignore them.

With these assets however I’m very happy with how they look and combine to create really interesting and unique looking forest maps!

I really want to continue this asset making trend a little more and do some more assets centered around some unique biomes but for now I’m concentrating on the basics.

Oh and there is a nice tileable texture that you can use included in the downloads for making your own maps and I will be doing more of these soon as well!

Next up I think I’ll do some camp assets which won't take nearly as long, and then maybe it will be time to branch out and do something crazy :D

Sure these are free to use and share around if you make anything with them in any way. But if you make a product you intend to sell then the same deal that applies to all my content applies with these assets as well, which means supporting me at the dragon tier :)

Well this one has been in the works for awhile… but I’m pretty happy with the results!

This is directly inspired by the Legend of Zelda games, specifically the area where you usually acquire the Master Sword somewhere in a forest (It changes sometimes which is why this is kind of vague haha)

The Master Sword, also known as the Blade of Evil's Bane, the Legendary Sword, the Sword of Legend, the Master Sword of Resurrection, the Sword that Seals the Darkness, and the Sacred Sword.”

While I'm sure you can simply use this map as a cool encounter in a forest it could also be turned into a major plot point for an entire campaign... and I think that acquiring the sword from a stone is a pretty epic fantasy trope to include in a game :)

There is a rain version included in the downloads and I’m also going to be adding coloured blue versions without the actual rain effect so that you can add rain effects that might be in a virtual tabletop! Like this one for example! http://foundryvtt.com/ :)

Today I can post a map I’ve been working on for the amazing James Haeck! The lead writer of DnD Beyond, Co-author of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist and the Co-author of the Critical Role Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting! If you don't know any of those things then.. well, you might want to check them out :)

Go and follow James of Twitter and say hi if you want to learn more about the lore behind this map though, this was for a home game and a few questions might not be super secret :)

https://twitter.com/jamesjhaeck

I’m so happy with how this map turned out though and it's an odd one for a few reasons!

Firstly, the perspective means that you can see the sky and the wonderfully evocative moons that are drifting across it. I was very keen to draw some moons/planets and this was a great excuse XD

Secondly and perhaps a little more subtlety this colour scheme was a challenge. I started with light greener colours but it just didn't look right or fit with how I imagined the world based on the descriptions given to me by James and so I threw out my first pass and started again… the second time around I ended up doing a sunset colour scheme and everything clicked!

This was a commission piece, so this is just for Personal Use Only if you want to use it for your own home game but there are a few versions in the downloads below!

Consistent Updates 2019-09-08T19:17:28+00:00

One of the things I struggle with as a creator and just personally throughout my life is keeping everything that I’m working on, or trying to do, public and visible.

For most people this would not be an issue but I have so many amazing people supporting me and my maps here on patreon or that follow my work, that I feel very responsible that I keep people in the loop.

With that in mind I am going to schedule some posts and tweets in the next few days so that there is always going to updates on things going forwards. This will be a monthly recap and outline of the things being worked on every month on patreon and tweets and posts on the discord that are fun little recaps or links to my work.

Bleeeh...

Now the reason I’m doing this is because over the last few weeks I’ve been feeling.. pretty bleh. The only really way to describe it is the quote from Bilbo in the Lord of the Rings “I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread.”

So far this has just meant that I’ve been very quiet and have not communicated much with people but I’ve still been working on things in the background. I think the main reason I feel this way is because I have a huge amount of things on my mind and I need to be a little bit more organized and relaxed. I’m currently looking at going away somewhere on holiday which might help as well.

Overall, this post is not anything to worry about. I’m absolutely fine and some cool maps will be going up soon (I’m working on a really amazing map right now as well) but I do think I should let everyone here know how I’m feeling from time to time.

I love you all very much and simply thanking you all for your support is never enough but… thank you all so much for your support here on patreon and generally being an awesome community! :) <3

Being in the creative workspace myself, this seems natural. Even aside from DnD, and DMing. You can only come up with so much cool stuff for people to use and experience before you just get worn out for a while. Nothing wrong with it, I'm sure you'll be fine. Take the time you need =)

Make sure to take some time for yourself, too! Between WotC streams, Deios, and Patreon you are next-level busy and none of us want to see you burn yourself out! I can't speak for everyone, but I am here to support *you* as the artist, not watch you work yourself to the bone. Art is a process of breathing—inhaling from the world and exhaling into art. It can be easy to forget that, so make sure you're 'inhaling' by reading a book, going for walks, and whatever else helps you recharge. Don't know about you, but we're a bit guilty of doing that sometimes. Either way, much love!

Today I’m posting a map I finished last week, it's a little region map made for Luciella Scarlett, a wonderful TTRPG writer that is currently working on her own RPG game!

If you would like updates on when the RPG is going to ready go and follow her on twitter and say hello! :) https://twitter.com/LuciellaES

This was a really nice little map to work on and because its a purely black and white map (with a little bit of grey) I spent more time shading it and making the details really stand out with line work rather than colour.

Overall I will try and continue this in maps going forwards but it is of course, quite time consuming.

There is no download for this map as this was a commission piece and it is not available for commercial use. I did think it was worth putting on here to show everyone how my map making has changed and hopefully improved abit though :)

Project Deios: Update Day 11 2019-07-31T19:09:24+00:00close

Project Deios is now entering the midpoint of the kickstarter and its doing incredibly well! I think that by the end will hit the final stretch goal and unlock a standalone desktop application!

This is really exciting stuff and I'm so happy with all the support we have received over the last week and a half, thank you to everyone who has backed so far!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dungeonfog/project-deios-dungeonfog-mapmaker-suite-for-worldbuilders

We are now (at the time of writing this) at £125k. We have unlocked two stretch goals that now allow you to vote on 5 extra setting that can be voted on after the kickstarter.

In addition, you can now not only create city, region and world maps but also solar systems and star maps!

With all the hype there is now also a few social stretch goals that we are smashing as well which will unlock some kickstarter exclusive asset packs made by me :)

I was traveling when this launched, and missed the Lifetime offer. Why are those limited, such that we can now only purchase Lifetime if we want commercial license, which I do not need? I'm not interested in having to pay as I go here, but would be interested in the Lifetime option. Any way to still do that? Thanks for the info!

Project Deios has calmed down a little and now there are 26 days left to unlock some stretch goals! If you want to help fund the Kickstater or don't know what I’m talking about head over to this link! :)

In the meantime, I’ve been working on the forest battlemaps and have finished up the crystal mine! The perfect map to start a dungeon/cave crawl down into the dark! :D

There is a rain version of the free map in the downloads below, I will probably be doing autumn and winter versions of these maps for patrons a little later and for this map it would be fun to do some different colour crystal versions as well :)

There are still three maps to go in this little series, the mushroom forest, sacred grove and forest river, ill probably do the mushroom forest next :)

The Azure Sea 2019-06-20T12:44:35+00:00close

I've been playing in a Dungeons & Dragons game live on twitch.tv/dnd for the past few weeks, it's been an amazing experience so far and we have 8 episodes left before my character Flick probably dies in some way ;) The Azure Sea is being used by Guy (The Great GM) to run a treasure hunt for our Call of the Kraken game and also serves as the region map for our campaign as well.

Even before I asked to be a member of the cast, I was involved in Project Deios and part of the collaboration between the various partners was that I would create a number of concept art maps.

This was one of them! And all the assets in this map were made for Project Deios!

There are still a number of tweaks and things I've changed so this is a rough look at what a map made in Project Deios will look like but it gives you a pretty good idea of what we are aiming for! If you are still not sure about what Project Deios is then check out the link below.

https://www.project-deios.com/partner/bsg

I can now say though, (because these reveals are public) that Project Deios will allow you to make city, region and world maps, and the current teaser starts to talk about the worlds beyond that as well...

There are still 4 reveals left over the coming weeks and hopefully when everything is revealed we can really blow people away :)

You can download the map to get a good sense of the scale but this is not available for commercial use.

Thanks for reading everyone!

Rebranding 2019-06-18T14:23:23+00:00

Short Bit

After nearly a year thinking about this, I will be changing my Patreon, Website, Discord and almost all other instances from Blue Sword Games to Caeora. This will happen over the next few days.

Long Bit

I am a somewhat reflective person that spends the majority of my time listening to fantasy music and drawing maps. This leads to a great deal of time thinking and one of the subjects I’ve been thinking about for some time now is my “brand name”.

It's never been a huge problem but I think that changing things so that Caeora is the only name used across all the platforms is going to make things easier to remember for people and hopefully associate my maps with a person rather than a company.

After all, the idea when I started Blue Sword Games was that I would hire people and make adventures but that changed and its still just me after 2 years and the maps that I make now are very personal pieces of art.

This is happening just in time as I’ve just finished a map that I think is one of my best but it's pretty insane how many hours I worked in order to get it done in time. I’m pretty burnt out and feeling very very tired.

After I’ve had a few days of rest I’m going to get back to making battlemaps and tokens for patrons and stream again at a regular schedule as well.

Oh! I’m also looking forward to sharing some more Project Deios things soon as well (I think it will make a lot of people very very happy) :)

I disagree with David when he says people are lazy, it's a matter of brand consistency! When I started to follow Caeora's work, I got confused with his accounts with the name "Caeora" on reddit's subreddits and others... "Why this Caeora guy is posting Blue Sword Games' work?", then I had to go to his profile and discover that he's indeed from Blue Sword Games. If the brand was consistent, I'd not have this problem to begin with. Plus, it's better to reefer to a friend his work this way.

Will Patreon allow you to change the URL of the campaign to "www.patreon.com/caeora"?

Yes indeed, I just changed it :)

I mean, you do you mate. But the new name is quite confusing in English, 4 vowels over 6 letters will make it harder for people to search you out or remember the name.

As someone who watches a lot of twitch, one of the big things streamers always talk about is brand/name integration across all platforms. People are lazy and having one name to remember is a def plus. Good luck on it.

Phew... I have not posted anything in a little while..

Sorry everyone! :)

I have been working on something very important, nothing to do with Project Deios (although I will be making a post about that later) and nothing to do with streaming every Saturday on the Dungeons & Dragons channel on twitch. (although that is also going very well)

This is something very very special.

Probably one of the most important maps I will ever make.

Oh yes, its one map and it's a big one, but when it's done and released I think everyone will understand why it's taken up so much of my time!

Thank you all so much for being so patient with me! I will be making a couple of content posts in the next few days <3

Sounds very exciting. I'll be happy with whatever it is, but one thing I'd really like to see you do is a world map that is broken into several regions, and then a more detailed map for each region. Doesn't need to be a lot of regions.

Project Deios is revealing more and more!

I can now talk about the city builder! At least in a vague way… :)

So if anyone has not heard about Project Deios yet, I’m working with a few of the most amazing individuals and companies in the tabletop roleplaying game industry to make something amazing. Dungeon Fog, World Anvil and The Great GM, oh and myself are making something really special, and as we work on it, we are letting people know about the project with little teasers.

We are really really excited, but we are still working on it, right now.

So we are sharing what we can without over promising on features until everything is finally revealed in full! The first teaser went fully public today and I can reveal a City Builder! I have made a bunch of assets and a concept map for the project so far and it's going to be a really easy and good looking easy to make villages, towns and cities!

The map you can see in the title of this post, the City of Aldgard was made with some of the Assets I have put together and you can download the map and take a look at the Assets being used, there is also a little surprise asset in there as well!

Finally its worth saying again that this is still being actively worked on, this city map was made with assets but this is not how the city map will look in the end. Hopefully its pretty close though :)

There is still a lot left to go and the second teaser can be be unlocked over at https://www.blueswordgames.com/project-deios

So if you want city maps (amongst other things) easily and quickly for a TTRPG game this might be a project worth keeping an eye on :)

Any chance you'll be making the assets available? I'm not personally interested in the Setting Maps (though I know many people are) but I'm definitely interested in getting some of those market/festival assets!

Drawing snow is harder than it seems on paper.. On the one hand you don't need to draw as many details, but that means you have large areas without any detail XD it can make the overall map look empty. But this is a good base to improve on in the future :)

Also this is a very basic kind of map from me but it will work fantastically with a token set I’ve been working on, containing 24 arctic creatures that should be up tomorrow!

There are snowy and non snowy versions, and slightly more blue/purple versions as I couldn't make up my mind as to which one looked better..

Sneak Peek: Iceworm Coast 2019-05-25T13:48:00+00:00close

(Normally I make these sneak peeks for patrons only but I would be really interested to know what everyone thinks about this style of coastline!)

This is going to be the next Dragon tier exclusive map, a small region covered in ice and snow, with a giant world tree, thick forests and viking themed settlement icons. However for a while now I've wanted to up my game when it comes to drawing coastlines, rather than simply drawing a line.

I think this looks pretty good! But its takes more time and I don't think it would work for every map. A world map might not need this kind of details for example but what do people think? :)

I really like the extra detail. The larger of the two inlets looks a little strange at the left top hand side (The inland river bit), but I can't work out if it says more about my lack of knowledge on earth science that it being an artistic thing.

Hmm yes I will add the rivers and see how it looks! :)

I agree the inlets look good. Specially with the one to the south that has the sharp rocks protecting it.

Most the time when I create setting maps, for regions or worlds I take my time, spending days and even weeks on it, until it's as perfect as I can make it. This map however was made in two days for a wonderful writer named Jordan who is writing his own setting called the Divine Realms. This was not a commission per say as I made this to practice a few things but he does have the rights to this map so please do not use this in commercial projects.

I think this is great starter map for creating a region that is small enough to run a one shot or two in, and easily injected into other campaigns as well!

There are a few different colours for this map as well :)

If you want to learn more about the Divine Realms go and follow Jordan on Twitter and check out his discord if you have any questions!

The Ruined Bifrost 2019-05-19T22:12:19+00:00close

“Bifrost (pronounced roughly “BIF-roast;” Old Norse Bifröst) is the rainbow bridge that connects Asgard, the world of the Aesir tribe of gods, with Midgard, the world of humanity. Bifrost is guarded by the ever-vigilant god Heimdall. During Ragnarok, the giants will breach Heimdall’s defenses and cross the bridge to storm Asgard and slay the gods.”

Here is the first of the Vikings & Snow maps! My take on the rainbow bridge, a little ruined and broken but is still has its colourful shine :)

There is one other version of this map, a more muted snowy version which fits the theme really well and I actually like a lot more than the original!

Oh! Also this month's theme will be stretching out a little more than a single month due to working on other projects, this month of Vikings & Snow will probably carry on to the end of June, which gives me about a month and half to do more maps!

This map was made last year for someone and I never released it on my patreon. It's free to use for personal use, but NOT for commercial purposes even for people supporting me at the Dragon tier. However as this map was going to used for an adventure and I have not heard anything since last year I think that It's fair that I show it off now haha

This map is also being posted today because I’m currently in a bit of crunch period where I am desperately trying to finish off things for secret projects. I’ve already talked about one in a previous post but I’m also involved in a few more that are really, and I mean really exciting.

(Yes.. I am building hype!)

So I have a few other maps and tokens that have brewing in the background while I finish off these things that I can post in the meantime and the monthly theme for the month is going to be a little delayed!

Thanks you for being patient with me and hopefully I can start to share the start of things in the next week/weeks.. maybe… hopefully! :D

Ghost of Saltmarsh & Me! 2019-05-04T19:25:08+00:00close

“On the 25th of May at 1pm PST, or 8 pm GMT depending on which ocean you call home, the first LIVE stream episode of How to be a Great GM presents Ghosts of Saltmarsh – Call of the Kraken airs on the official D&D twitch channel; twitch.tv/dnd. As the name implies the show is hosted by How to be a Great GM’s Guy Sclanders, a GM with decades of experience in role-playing games and Dungeons & Dragons.

The first season will run for 12 episodes. The heroes will go through some of the content from the Dungeons & Dragons upcoming Adventure book, Ghosts of Saltmarsh – releasing on the 21st of May through all your favourite retailers online and globally. It promises to be a game full of high seas adventure that takes you on a journey from the depths of Azure sea to well… the deeper depths of the Azure sea. The poor town of Saltmarsh isn’t ready for the kraken!”

So.... not only will I be making a map/maps for the show. I will be playing in the Call of the Kraken LIVE on the official twitch channel for DnD every friday starting on the 25th of May!!

(For anyone that has not seen my face before on stream, the above picture is me!)

This is an unbelievably exciting opportunity, to not only play Dungeons & Dragons set in the new book by Wizards of the Coast but to play with some amazing people in the community and all in front of people so they can see me make an absolute fool of myself!

I can't wait! :D

This is going to be a very high production value show and with any luck it will absolutely blow people away. I will be posting a few updates on this as it gets closer to the release of the show, with some sneak peeks at my character and backstory.

Finally I’ve been talking about secret things on my stream, twitter and discord recently and this is only the first thing I can talk about, there is another announcement regarding my maps and content coming soon!

Balefire Volcano 2019-05-03T16:17:44+00:00close

This is the final map for the Coasts & Shallows theme, the remote Balefire Volcano!

You could argue this map is better suited for a more fiery theme but.. I think it fits into island hopping and ship adventures very well and as a plus I now how to draw volcanoes from the top down!

Some people that were watching the steam on Tuesday may notice that the map grid seems a little bigger in the final version and that was my fault. This map is nearly twice as big in terms of scale than I thought and needed a bit of tweaking.

This is also not technically a battlemap and I put it under setting maps. This is because in order to actually draw a decently sized volano I had to zoom out and draw this at the same kind of scale I would normally draw city maps. There is however still a grid that you can use but if you are using tokens online you will have to play at a more zoomed out scale while playing :)

As has been the norm with many of my maps recently there is also a rain version in the free download as well :)
