Until a viable way of accepting monetary donations becomes available, cryptocurrency will remain the only option.

Resolution of Legal Threat and Unpausing of Patreon 2020-06-30T12:21:21+00:00

Hello everyone,

As a quick recap, on June 25th we received a threat of legal action against us over unauthorized use of copyrighted material from a past contractor. Over the next few days we ceased distribution of Mahou Arms, took steps to remove the material in question from the game, and attempted to communicate with the owner of the copyright. We updated you on June 27th, letting you know that we had removed all of the copyrighted content in question and had given then owner of the copyright until today to respond and verify that the content had been removed.

Today we received an email from the copyright owner. They refused to review the new build of the game and continued to demand payment. We are therefore presuming their affirmation that the game no longer contains any assets over which they own copyright. Therefore, we will be unpausing the Patreon and resuming distribution of Mahou Arms. The copyright owner may chose to proceed with legal action, but it should not affect distribution of the game as it is now, since it no longer contains their copyrighted content.

Please note that because of this legal challenge, builds prior to v.0.2.961 will no longer be available to downgrade to in the Launcher. Also, because we've had to replace some sounds on such short notice, they may not be ideal. Thankfully, we were working on getting new sounds commissioned anyway.

In any case, thank you all for your patience with this matter. Also, since we're unpausing the Patreon so close to the billing period, we are offering optional refunds for July. If you would like one, send us a message after you are charged.

Do you have any grounds to counter-sue the person in question? ... because "refused to review the new build of the game and continued to demand payment" is showing obvious malice and unreasonable stance.

Update on Temporary Unavailability Due to Legal Action 2020-06-27T22:00:43+00:00

Hello everyone,

I wanted to give you all an update on the progress we've made regarding the threat of legal action against us.

Since replying via email to the composer's initial threat, we have not received any further communication from them. However, using our version control system, we were able to compile a list of all assets the composer added or modified in the game. This has allowed us to remove all audio content generated by them and review their other work to determine whether it would meet the standards required for copyright to apply.

We're happy to announce that we've now replaced all of their sound assets and have found that their other contributions were not unique or complex enough to qualify for copyright protection. In addition, much of their other work had already been redone, modified, or was no longer in use anyway.

We have made this new game build available to the composer to verify that their copyrighted material is no longer present. We have given them a deadline of Tuesday, June 30th, 2020 to respond. If we do not hear from them, we will assume that they have verified that the new build is free of their copyrighted material.

Thanks to our version control system, we feel confident that we have removed all of the composer's copyrighted material and therefore, if in the future we receive any additional claims from the composer, we will not take down the game as we have done in this instance without a court order. We will investigate their claims and if they prove credible, we will replace the content and release an update. We have given the composer the opportunity to provide a list of material over which they own copyright, but they have not done so yet. Therefore we consider this policy to be reasonable.

It is still possible that the composer will proceed with legal action against us, however we do not think they will win if the matter goes to court. We have ample evidence that we have acted properly over the course of our communications and we took immediate action to stop distribution of the game and remove their copyrighted material as soon as they informed us that we were no longer permitted to use it.

Thank you all very much for your patience with this matter. You should hear from us again on Tuesday, or earlier if there are new developments.

Glad to hear that things seem to be running smoothly on your end. You've done everything required and then some, so they shouldn't have any ground to stand on at this point. Appreciate the updates, and in a tricky situation like this I certainly understand the actions you've had to take. I can wait.

It shouldn't take them more than a day or two to review the materials. They could try to stretch out the battle but I doubt that they'll win. They'll gain infamy if they keep on doing this to their future clients. I really hope things get resolved as quickly and peacefully as possible. When this is all over, are the new artworks and the new build going to come out on the same date?

Artwork will be released as soon as it's ready (1 more day or so), build as soon as this is sorted out. This doesn't affect the artwork deliveries, they're just taking a bit of time to finish as usual

Temporary Pausing of Patreon and MA Build Access Due to Legal Action 2020-06-25T17:30:31+00:00

Hello everyone,

First, we've temporarily paused the Patreon, emailed Valve to temporarily remove the game from Steam, and temporarily made all builds of the game inaccessible. This is only a temporary measure. We are still developing the game and it will be available again in a month or two. Rewards will still be delivered for this month. You will not be charged for next month unless we resolve the issue before July. Read on for the reason behind this.

Unfortunately I must inform you that we recently received a threat of legal action against us from a composer who worked with us for a short period over 2 years ago.

This composer was informally contracted to produce sounds and music and implement them into the game. We agreed to pay them £31.50 per hour and limited them to 30 hours a month. If they needed to work more than 30 hours in a month, they were to ask for permission. This was to control costs since they were being paid a high hourly rate and this was early in the game’s development.

The composer ended up working with us for about 4 months before we asked them to leave the project on May 2nd, 2018 for unacceptable behavior and jeopardizing our relationship with our publisher.

They billed us for 82 hours of work over three months (we did not get a bill for the final month). They exceeded their 30 hour limit in one month by 7 hours, and presumably would have exceeded their 30 hour limit for the final month if they had of sent us a bill for it. They claim that our main artist gave them permission to exceed the limit, but our artist did not have the legal authority to make financial decisions for the company. So, we reduced their 37 hour bill to 30 hours and also assumed that their final bill would hit the 30 hour limit as well. In the end, we paid them for 105 hours of work, which works out to £3,307.50 GBP or around $4,616.25 USD.

Due to the capping of their bills, they claim that we have underpaid them by at least 7 hours (because we did not receive a final bill, we don’t know their exact claim regarding underpayment). They also claim that we agreed to pay severance when we hired them, and although we did mention being open to the idea, we did not agree to it explicitly. They also felt that they deserved two months worth of severance, which at their average monthly pay would have been at least £1,653.75 (or around $2,308.13 USD). This seemed an unreasonable demand for a part time, contract position. We attempted to negotiate a lower severance, but in the end I got frustrated with what I felt was unreasonable greed and chose not to pay for anything more than the 105 hours previously mentioned.

After paying them for these hours, we moved to remove their content from the game, since we felt it was likely they would eventually either demand it removed or demand extra payment to be allowed to keep using it. We removed their music and thought that we had removed their sound effects and other contributions as well, but now the composer has come forward claiming that we had failed to do so. They are seeking extra compensation and damages resulting from the unauthorized use of their assets. It is our position that we paid the agreed amount for their work and, up until now, they never stated that we could not use their assets in the game. We are in contact with them now, but until this is resolved, we will need to temporarily take the game offline until we can confirm that all their contributions have been removed.

We apologize for this inconvenience. When you became a patron or purchased the game on Steam, you trusted us to use the money toward the development of the game in the most efficient way possible. This is what we are trying to accomplish by not giving into these demands.

-various out of bounds fixes
-when transformed, it's possible to clip the camera into basically every wall, this can only be done while transformed
-Text for Stay and Leave is very tiny and hard to decipher between the two, had clicked stayed and anticipated to leave too often: font changed, background darkened, and order swapped. hopefully this is more legible
-the dropped guns from dashing while transformed/transforming can clip into the ground and walls making them in red inside of walls or the floor
-The aerial light homes in on the last enemy you hit, rather than whatever you're closest to/targeting. This includes locking on to dead enemies if that's the last thing you've hit.
-Dpad isn't working when trying to confirm changes to graphic settings
-you can still surf on your guns if you do instant-surf (dash -> heavy 1f) while transformed
-if a player launches in normal mode, then the launch animation can be played again after a jump
-DSA fires are being triggered when they shouldn't be, also they block IK traces
-various optimizations in pier and downtown areas
-can dodge certain attacks by just doing the first L attack at a certain timing?: enemies track better now, so this should be fixed...
-The fix that stops you from throwing your guns also disables your ability to chain from a heavy attack into any transformed attack
-zoom is uncapped in manga cutscenes
-amelia spins around in normal mode: more natural spin rate
-health icon wasn't reflecting style input state
-launch01 can occasionally trigger without a weapon
-When locked on, sometimes the camera will flicker back and forth between two positions when an object is between the character and enemy at just the right spot

My game won't update either. It gets stuck while trying to apply the update. If I close the application it will download the patch all over again. It will then get stuck on applying the update at 6.25%

If the patch fails once, it will usually fail next time too (since it will try to reapply the patch to files that have already been patched). Unfortunately all that can be done right now to fix this error is to go to settings, delete local files or uninstall current version and then reinstall. Sorry for the trouble.

This scene is so hot whether this is canon or not. Amelia seems free-spirited to me. I always get the feeling that she already had a lot of experience with other men whenever she flirts with the commander. She likes the commander the best but I wouldn't be surprised if she sleeps with other guys from time to time. If she does, I think it'd only add to her charm cause she does not fit to the typical mold of most heroines. I'll wait for the completion of this game so I can learn more about the characters and see if scenes like this will be included in the game or not. Mahou Arms' gameplay and h-scenes are equally impressive. Hope you could add scenes like this even if they're not part of the main story. It'd be nice if they can be included even just as bonuses in the future.

Impressions, Feedback, and Upcoming Plans 2020-05-01T16:32:09+00:00

Firstly, we'd like to thank you all for giving Mahou Arms' Early Access such a warm welcome! Whether you only just learned about MA or have been a patron since 2018, I cannot stress how much we we deeply appreciate your support. We're super excited to finish MA ASAP, and this launch has been super motivating.

In this post, we'd like to address early impressions of the game, feedback, and our upcoming plans, including our high level production schedule and scope for the project.

Addressing First Impressions & Feedback:

We've been watching streams and checking feedback daily and we're happy to see a generally positive reception for the game. That said, there's a couple of topics that are frequently brought up as being issues or poor experiences. In this post, we'll list a couple of them and give a time frame for when we expect to improve them.

Immediate Improvements:

  • Impact Sound Effects are Bad: We've contacted a sound design contractor for a quote on new sounds. New sounds should be implemented in 1-2 months.

Next 2 Months:

  • Lack of Tutorials and Input Remapping: We're going to implement popup tutorials (which you'll be able to turn off) and an input remapping screen soon. For Input Remapping, Mouse and Keyboard will be supported first, while gamepads will have a couple profiles to choose from. Exhaustive Gamepad Input Remapping will be implemented sometime in the future, though we don't have a date for that yet.
  • Enemies Feel Too Much Like Damage Sponges: This will be addressed by making the player deal more damage with a higher style rating. Globally decreasing enemy health as a fix leads to a lot of poor experiences (killing enemies with the first hit in a combo), so we're hoping style-rank based damage-acceleration will mitigate this and encourage skillful play while resolving the main damage issue.
  • Too Easy to Gain Style: The style rank is a brand new feature that has not been balanced yet. This will be balanced and become better over time.
  • Enemies Are Too Easily Stunlocked: There are a couple of approaches we are going to try for this. What solution we go with will depend on testing.
First, we're going to try making the player more vulnerable to attacks from other enemies during a combo. This will likely include a combination of: reducing player movement during attacks, using enemy weight to dictate how much the player can push them during an attack, and making the enemies' attacks' tracking more accurate, especially over subsequent shots.
Second, we'll try giving some enemies stunlock-detection AI, where they can try dodging or teleporting to a nearby location if they've been stunlocked too long.
  • Probe Randomly Shoots Balls With no Telegraphing: This attack will be replaced by one that has a more obvious charging state and projectile. We're not sure what form the projectile will take, but a user on our feedback channel suggested a larger, homing ball that explodes when shot by the probe's laser, similar to Unreal Tournament's Shock Combo, which we're willing to try out.
  • No Attack That Allows Amelia to Hit Diagonally from the Air: Divekick to Normal Amelia will be added (Heavy Attack while in air).

Next 2-6 Months:

  • Lack of Content and Enemies: This will be improved up until release, but the most important part for mission content (game width, as opposed to depth) requires us to work on a horizontal slice for the rest of the story missions as soon as possible so we can pace out the missions for the best intensity curve. For this period, we'll be heavily focusing on new enemies, bosses, a new character, and a horizontal slice of the game.
  • Broken Progression Loop, Not Enough Saves: We need a home base for the player to come back to between missions to address this. We'll reveal more details on this soon, but think of a kind of XCOM-like base building component.
  • Zombies are too Easy: Try explosive zombies.

Next 6-18 Months:

Lack of Depth: We'll be working on until release, but here are some of the proposed mechanics we're adding to help add depth to the game:

Utility Skills: Right now, if L3 (Q on keyboard) is pressed, the character sends out a "ping" that scans the environment for enemies and collectibles. In the future, this ability can be upgraded to deflect projectiles and maybe stun enemies on successful deflects. Other ideas would include skills that launch missiles, lasers, throw grenades, or suck enemies towards a black hole.
Weapon Mods: Mods will make make weapon bullets consume MP for secondary effects, such as breaking shields, freezing enemies, and bullets that explode after a period of time.
MP System: Utility skills and weapon mods will consume MP.
Ignite System: Devil trigger. Details TBA
Character Switching: Switch character in the middle of a combo
Ability System: Gives secondary effects to certain abilities, like stealing health on a perfect dodge, etc.

Undetermined Production Timeline:

  • Customization: Character skins, hairstyle swaps, and accessory swaps
  • Charge Attacks

Intentionally Delayed Until Release:

  • Combo / Command List: We're deliberately delaying this since a lot of attacks and inputs get tweaked throughout development. Every time a change happens we'd have to spend time updating the list and the tutorial text for the list, which can be a poor use of development time for our tiny devteam. This type of list cannot be automated.
  • Chinese/Japanese Localization: Simplified/Traditional Chinese and Japanese are confirmed localization targets. It's most efficient to translate all the narrative at once when it's done though, so while we might translate UI / gameplay components, narrative translations will happen later.

Onwards!

This post is already very long, so the next one will be a high level roadmap of what we're working on at what point in time for the Early Access period of Mahou Arms. Please note that re-scoping will happen throughout development, so it might not be completely accurate, but if it changes drastically we'll create a new roadmap.

New supporter here. I would like to say that even if this game is still in its Alpha stage it blows other games of this type out there out of the water, even the ones from Japan. I can tell that a lot love is being poured in this project. The gameplay is pretty solid; It just needs tweaking since it's a new game. The music is great too. It seems to adapt depending on what's happening on the screen. Love the art style, character design and the comic style cutscenes. The heroine is pretty refreshing. She's not just sweet but also cheeky and assertive. Typically, female protagonists are pretty shy in bed scenes. Amelia is different, she's really passionate when it comes to love-making. The H-scenes are superb and I like how the characters change position seamlessly. Thanks for the frequent update. I'm glad I'm able to support you guys. I wish you all safety, peace and good health.

How to get Mahou Arms (Unrated Version) from Steam 2020-04-30T15:57:44+00:00

Step 1: Download the Launcher from the https://mahouarms.com (Get Launcher, direct link: https://mahouarms.com/mahouarms/Mahou_Arms_Setup.exe )

Step 2: Install the Launcher, then open it.

Step 3: Click the top left icon, then Sign In With Steam.

Step 4: Click On Settings, then select Uncensored from the dropdown next to Channel.

Step 5: Click on Home, then Version 0.X.XXX Is Ready To Install will show up. Click that, and the game will begin to download.

Step 6: Launch the game by clicking Start Game once the download completes. Enjoy!

Since we’ve updated the Launcher and released on Steam Early Access, we decided we should provide a more detailed post about the Launcher’s new features. This post will help explain the following:

  • Steps to install Mahou Arms via the Launcher (Patreon)
  • Steps to install Mahou Arms via the Launcher (Steam)
  • How to access Patreon rewards
  • How to unlock past rewards with tokens
  • How to switch Mahou Arms channels and determine the latest build
  • Getting a Steam key as a Patron
  • Common Issues/FAQ

Feel free to skip to the section that’s relevant to you.

Steps to install Mahou Arms via the Launcher (Patreon)

To install Mahou Arms via the Launcher with Patreon, first you must download the launcher here: https://mahouarms.com/mahouarms/Mahou_Arms_Setup.exe

Once the Launcher is installed, you must log into it via your Patreon account. Clicking the following button in the Launcher will open your web browser for you to log in.

Once you are logged in, the Launcher will know which Mahou Arms builds and rewards you are entitled to. Before you begin installation, you should check your settings to make sure you have the channel/version you want to install selected. You can find more information on how to do this in the “How to switch Mahou Arms channels” section.

Once you have the desired channel/version selected, you can begin the installation process by clicking the following message. Please don’t close the Launcher during installation.

Once the installation process is done, you can click “Play” to start the game. If you have any problems during installation, please refer to the “Common Issues/FAQ” section. If you cannot resolve the issue after doing so, please let us know.

Once you have the desired channel/version selected, you can begin the installation process by clicking the following message. Please don’t close the Launcher during installation.

How to access Patreon rewards

To access your Patreon rewards, you must be logged into the Launcher with your Patreon account. Instructions on how to do this are in the “Steps to install Mahou Arms via the Launcher (Patreon)” section. Once logged in, you can click on the “My Rewards” menu option to bring up the rewards you have access to.

To download a reward, click the “Download” button below the thumbnail. A window will open for you to select your download location.

Once selected, the download will begin and the progress will be displayed in the download button. Once complete, you can click the button again to open the location of the download.

From there, simply unzip the file and enjoy your rewards!

How to unlock past rewards with tokens

To unlock past Patreon rewards, you must be logged into the Launcher with your Patreon account. Instructions on how to do this are in the “Steps to install Mahou Arms via the Launcher (Patreon)” section. Once logged in, you can click on the “My Rewards” menu option to bring up the rewards you have access to.

To see unlockable rewards, you must change the “Show” setting to “Unowned”. This will display a list of captain-tier rewards you do not have access to. You may only unlock captain tier rewards, as they are equivalent to major tier rewards and also contain Lieutenant rewards anyway.

To the left of the list you will see a count of your available tokens. Tokens are earned per month of support based on your Patreon tier, starting from April 2020. April’s token calculation was 1 for Lieutenants and 3 for captain and majors, however starting from May 2020, a month of support will earn you the following per tier:

  • Lieutenant: 1 Token
  • Captain: 3 Tokens
  • Major: 6 Tokens

Earn reward unlock costs 3 tokens. If you have enough tokens you may click the unlock button below the reward you want to unlock.

This will bring up a confirmation modal. Click Yes to proceed with the unlock.

Once unlocked, your reward will show up in your “Owned” list, which should automatically be opened after the reward is unlocked. You may download your reward.

How to switch Mahou Arms channels and determine the latest build

To switch build channels, you must be logged into the Launcher with either Patreon or Steam. Please refer to the first two sections for instructions on how to do this. Once logged in, you can click on the “Settings” menu option to bring up the channel/version override options.

The channel permissions work as follows:

Steam: Censored, Uncensored

Patreon (Cadets) (Phased Out): Censored, Uncensored

Patreon (Lieutenants and higher): Censored, Uncensored, Bleeding

Here are the purposes of each channel:

Censored: The censored version of the game. All adult content has been removed from this version. (v.0.1.616 and prior have adult content but with blurring/pixelation)

Uncensored: The uncensored version of the game. All adult content is included.

Bleeding: Typically the “latest” build available. New features and content is delivered through this channel early to Patreon backers. After big releases (such as the initial Steam Early Access release) Censored/Uncensored channels may temporarily be farther ahead than bleeding.

Changing the channel will change the versions of Mahou Arms available in the Version Override list. Higher version numbers are newer versions of the game.

After changing the channel/version you will either see a message to install/update to the version on the main home screen or an option to play it if it's already installed. You may only install one version from each channel at a time, but may upgrade/downgrade between versions as you like.

Getting a Steam Key as a Patron

Your Steam key eligibility is based on your lifetime pledge amount and the key is delivered via the Launcher. Your current pledge amount does not need to be higher than the Steam price to get a key, only your lifetime pledge amount. So, if you pledged at $5, you would earn a Steam key after six months ($30 lifetime pledge). This applies retroactively, so past patrons who pledged over $30 in total will still get a steam key even if they are no longer patrons and do not re-pledge.

To acquire a key/see the status of your Steam key eligibility, go to the "My Rewards" page of the Launcher and look to the bottom left.

This will show your progress towards a Steam key, or if you've already pledged enough, it will be a button to get your steam key.

Clicking this button will bring up a screen which will allow you to copy or view your Steam key.


Common Issues/FAQ

>> I bought the game on Steam but the Launcher says I don't have access?

If you logged into the Launcher before purchasing the game on Steam, you will have to log out and back in before the Launcher is able to recognize your purchase.

>> I have pledged more than $30 over time but am no longer pledged. Do I still get a steam key?

Yes.

>> Do I need to pledge over $30 at once to get a Steam key?

No, the $30 requirement is based on your lifetime pledge (so a $10 pledge after 3 months will get you a key).

>> I have purchased the game on Steam, do I need to be a patron to get the uncensored version of the game?

No. Steam users get the uncensored version from the Launcher as well.

>> Do I need to set the install location to my Steam folder?

No, the Launcher is entirely separate from Steam and the Steam version of the game.

>> I've pledged in this past but am not currently pledged. The Launcher says I don't have access to the game now.

This is a known issue. You are supposed to have access to all builds released while you were pledged, but this isn't working yet. It will be fixed in the future. You can still run any installed versions of the game despite the warning though.

>> The download is too slow.

If you are using a proxy, try turning it off. If you must use a proxy, use one close to San Fransisco, USA. Try downloading during times when less people will be using the internet. Most download speed problems are caused by a high ping, so anything you can do to lower your ping will help.

>> The download reaches 100% and then fails to proceed.

This is a known issue and we are working on fixing it. The issue is sometimes resolved by changing your installation location or restarting your computer.

>> The download gets stuck.

Pausing and un-pausing the download will sometimes fix this.

Hello Frank, You should be able to just change the channel and run the installation again. You don't need to delete local files in order to download. If that's the case then there's a bug and I'm not sure what would cause it. Can you try again (make sure to just change the channel and then run the installation, don't delete local files)?

Summary

  • Every Patron who has a lifetime pledge amount equal or greater to the price of the game on Steam will get one Steam key. You can not earn multiple keys.

  • Phasing out of $1 Cadet tier
  • New Launcher, Unlockable Previous Rewards!

Mahou Arms is Coming Soon to Steam Early Access!

Exciting news! Mahou Arms has reached the point where we feel comfortable releasing it on Steam Early Access! The Steam version of the game will have adult content removed by default, but owning the game on Steam will grant access to the uncensored version from the official launcher. It will release on April 28th. More details below.

What does this mean for the Patreon?

Not much will change. Steam users will be entitled to the uncensored Cadet version of the game, so Lieutenants and above will still get new updates first. Also, all patrons who have a lifetime pledge amount equal to or greater than the Steam price will be granted a Steam key via the launcher (this may happen a little while after the game’s Steam release).

Steam users will not have access to the patron-only feed, monthly rewards, or any other patreon benefit.

Finally, the free censored build will no longer be available from the Launcher, since it would be equivalent to the unpatched Steam version.

The Future

It is our hope that releasing on Steam Early Access will increase the funding available to us for development. Your generous support has allowed us to dedicate most of our time to Mahou Arms, but more funding would allow us to hire helpers (animators, modelers, programmers) so that we can release updates more quickly and be more ambitious with our goals. Thank you all for your support thus far and we hope to continue working toward the final version of the game together.

Patreon Cadet Tier Phase Out

On an unrelated topic, we have decided to eliminate the Cadet tier. This will only make the tier inaccessible for new Patrons, existing patrons may stay in the tier and will be granted access to new Steam builds. However, if you delete your pledge or change your tier, you will not be able to rejoin it.

We have made this decision for a number of reasons. The most significant is that a large portion of that $1 pledge is taken up by payment processing fees, so the amount we receive is fairly small. At this stage in the game’s development, we also felt that a higher barrier of entry better represented the worth of the game and is fairer to those in higher tiers and Steam users.

Launcher Update

In light of our launch on Steam, we decided to update the Launcher visually and functionally. Importantly, Steam users will now be able to use it to access the uncensored version of the game, but Patrons may now also purchase past rewards with “credits”. We’ve granted everyone who backed us in March with 3 credits and for the month of April (and subsequent months) each month of support will earn you 1 credit at the Lieutenant tier and/or 3 credits at the Captain or Major tiers. Each past reward will cost 3 credits.

Hello! The Launcher will allow you to log in with Steam to verify that the game is in your library. Once verified, you will be able to download the uncensored version of the game. Hey Patrons, I just realized that new patrons might not have gotten this message, so I'll put it on here. This is a copy of the message sent out to Patrons earlier this week:

I apologize in advance for this but there's a good chance rewards for this month will be delayed a couple days. I've been very sick for over a week with a sinus infection, and according to my doctor it will take another week or so before I begin to get better. I'm doing my best to work on Mahou Arms and Monthly Rewards, but due to limited work hours during the day due to sickness I can't work at my normal pace. I apologize for this and I'm working with Inkrot to give you some additional rewards as compensation for the delay.

The shortlist:

  • Rewards will be late a couple days
  • We have records of your pledge from this month, so even if you decide not to pledge next month, you will still get rewards through messages and the Launcher
  • We're working on a system to allow Patrons to unlock previous rewards or other types of rewards in the future. As compensation for the delay we will be giving you some extra tokens you can use to unlock previous rewards. The token system might release a little after the delayed rewards for this month, so please hang in there, we'll get it in as soon as possible.

it's a 1k render target texture with world UVs that follows the player in ~8192 world unit intervals. there's some 512*512 older ones that the current texture copies to to hide when the player walks to a new chunk.

snow shaders reference that render target, which gets painted on whenever relevant characters' feet gets close enough to the ground. a component in the game mode blueprint paints onto the texture every other frame or so. this is in unreal

Temporary Workaround for the "FPS Counter Breaking Mouse / Keyboard Input" bug 2019-10-10T05:49:18+00:00

There's a bug in the current bleeding build where enabling the FPS counter breaks keyboard and mouse input. I have an idea on what's causing this and will upload a hotfix soon.
For now, the workaround is to delete this folder to reset the settings for the game: C:\Users\%USERNAME&\AppData\Local\MagicalGirlDF

or

open C:\Users\%USERNAME&\AppData\Local\MagicalGirlDF\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Settings.ini with notepad and change Graphics.Debugmode=1 to Graphics.Debugmode=0.

I'm sorry about the inconvenience!!!

I had the issue before. Except i didnt delete the whole file,but changed the fps setting value back to original through the text file.

Double Illustration Rewards Month! 2019-10-07T23:15:26+00:00

Note: I apologize for the double post. Patreon doesn't allow implied nudity on public posts, but I still want non-patrons to be able to read the text portion. If you're not subscribed, the preview image can be seen on the @paperbagsan twitter.

For October, Captains ($10 patrons) and Majors ($20 patrons) will get double the usual amount of Monthly Art rewards! Above is a preview of all of the bonus illustrations (9 in total!) that Majors ($20 patrons) will get for the month of October. Captains ($10 patrons) will get October and September. The SFW high res illustrations will also be included, though they're not in the above preview.

In addition, two bonus illustrations will be drawn this month!
