Hello! Thank you for using yiff.party!

We hope you enjoy using it. yiff.party operates on a non-profit basis, and as such, all the server expenses are paid by our users. We don't want to run ads or infect you with crypto miners. We depend on users like you to keep the site running, and to preserve years and terabytes of amazing content—some of which is no longer available from its original creators!

Because of the nature of the site, many users are reluctant to donate. That's OK! yiff.party was created so everyone can enjoy the content we host without any restrictions or paywalls. But if you value the service we provide, and are able to, we—and our users—would be tremendously grateful if you considered making a donation.

Donation progress for July 2020

So far, approximately $0.00 has been raised out of our target of $250.00. We're about 0% of the way there! Please note: this tracker is updated manually—don't worry if your donation doesn't show up immediately!

yiff.party's server costs are due on the last day of each month. So, we need to meet this goal before 31 July!

How to donate?

At this time, yiff.party can only accept donations in numerous cryptocurrencies. Please select a currency below to display the relevant donation address.

Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum Classic (ETC)
Litecoin (LTC)
Why can't I donate through other means (eg. PayPal)?

Due to the nature of sites like yiff.party, it is very difficult to find payment processors who will accept clients like us. If we were to accept donations via PayPal, it wouldn't take more than a day for someone to submit an abuse report and get our account frozen. Until a viable way of accepting monetary donations becomes available, cryptocurrency will remain the only option.

There are many resources available on how to purchase crypto. For Bitcoin, check out bitcoin.org's page on buying Bitcoin for a list of methods. For beginner Bitcoin users, yiff.party recommends using an escrow service such as LocalBitcoins.

Monster Manual Revisited: The Chuul! 2020-07-01T20:50:01+00:00close

Next up on my effort to update all my old models is the Chuul! I've uploaded a presupported file, but if you want to take a crack at it yourself in resin I'd tilt him back about 20 degrees to ensure not too many supports show up under the tentacles. For FDM I'd do the same. You might deal with some supports under the claw bits, but it'll still look clawy in the end so it'll look dope.

To be honest, I'd prefer this in FDM given the print lines give it extra texture ^_^

Anyway, full files are in the C - Chuul folder. You can find them here too: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/35759-chuul-updated

I said earlier I'd pass the Chimera as I already updated it earlier this year, but, I can see some details are still needed so I'll touch that up next. Also...

Important Announcement:

Tomorrow Jen and I will be traveling up to NH to see her family for the 4th of July weekend. We'll wear masks and be careful. I don't think I'll be posting anything tomorrow but we'll see.

July Updates :) 2020-07-01T11:55:55+00:00

Hello my friends. First off, thank you so very much for your continual support during these difficult times. Jen and I are doing fine and I'm still on track to make free miniature models for the world to enjoy. I do understand the pandemic is a financial strain on most, so I'll continue to offer access to the Google Drive even to former patrons until November. I know it isn't much but if it helps even a little its something.

The Monster Manual Revisited

This month's project will be heavily focused on revisiting my oldest but also most used models. I'll be going Alphabetically, however, sometimes the "Rule of Cool" comes into play and a surprise might show up here and there. Either way it'll be great to touch up these old fellas. I gotta say, even I can see I came a long way as some of these pieces really really needed an upgrade haha.

Presupported Models

The process to make presupported for resin models is coming a long. I've already covered 600 models last month so hopefully I can get more done in July. I'll go down the Google Drive alphabetically as well. I wanted to make these for FDM, but given almost every printer and slicer is different its not a realistic goal. Resin machines come in all shapes and sizes too, though when it comes to print settings they're generally more uniform.

The Printed and Painted Contest

I'm going to post soon a poll for last months entries. They're all really amazing so don't forget to vote. Winners will get custom minis by me, while all other entries will get stickers by Jen :)

Requests, Commissions and Rewards

I'll continue to stream modeling Commission pieces, Tier Reward modeling, Contest Winner Rewards and eventually Request Board models every Tuesday and Thursday on Twitch . Expect a message from me soon to those who were selected. I'm very excited to see what you all request!

Once again, THANK YOU!

Seriously, the fact that you're supporting an artist is really amazing especially during these difficult times. Thank you all so much. I only wish I could do more. We're all doing our best getting through these times together, and I'm confident we shall walk away from this stronger than ever. Eventually we'll be with our friends again around the table and wowing them with new pieces that seem to just come from thin air. Keep being amazing and expect new pieces from me soon!

Sales Tax Notice :( 2020-06-30T11:45:48+00:00

There are some changes happening in Patreon for sales tax that will affect some USA patrons starting July 1st. This affects ALL CREATORS. So if you support a lot of Patreons really make sure you look into this.

(Details here ) I went in and specified what type of support many of you give which should offset the majority of it. Since I release my models for free, that means a lot of your support counts as general donations rather than a money exchange for goods. General donations aren't taxed. Of course I do also offer a service to you with my shared Google Drives, Tier Rewards, Contests and Live streams, so some tiers will see it go up.

We'll see how it works out! It ranges from 4% to 11% so at absolute worse it'll raise a $5 pledge by $0.20 to $0.55. Still sucks I know. I'll see if I can make any more changes but I figure I should post something before the first rolls in.

I wish I had more control over this folks. If this is the last straw for some given the financial strain of the pandemic I do understand, and my Drive link will be available for folks until November. I know its not much but its something. Take care and thanks my friends.

You’re the best man. I just realized you’re keeping the google drive open to people til November. For this alone I’ll stay a patron.

You're the first (so far only) person we support who gave a heads up. Thanks!
user avatar
User #12442277 - 30 Jun 20 12:48
Do we need to do anything to change tiers from where we're currently at? A couple other creators I follow have created new tiers to account for the tax change.
user avatar
mz4250 - 30 Jun 20 13:01
Nope. I've ensured each tier pays as minimal as possible, especially the $5 tier given you're donating more than anything else.
user avatar
User #5851513 - 30 Jun 20 13:06
I understand you must be in a tough spot yourself, too. I’m fortunate that I’ve come out of the pandemic relatively financially unscathed - so I’ve increased my pledge to you. Hopefully I can help smooth out the ride a little for you!

User #16940661 - 30 Jun 20 13:26
Well, I still have a job so I’ll just up my tier a little. Taxation is theft when it’s intellectual properly

User #18607603 - 30 Jun 20 13:09
is patron collecting the tax, or are you? If it is Patron, then you should not have to do anything, as it will all be done under thier tax umbrella. If it is you, god help you because you ned to file for a tax id in every state you intend to collect tax for and maintain a separate bank account for taxes. If it is you, consult a tax attorney, you may be better of filing for a 501(c)3 for an educational institution (teaching model design and painting techniques) to avoid this whole sales tax mess. i am lucky and able to eat the minor increase, just praying patron is the one doing the taxes, because if not, your screwed

Monster Manual Revisited: The Centaurs! 2020-06-29T21:08:53+00:00close

Here is a male and female Centaur, now updated with a more detailed look for today's modern printers! Along with uploading presupported files for them to be printed in resin, I've also uploaded the files in pieces so they can be printed easier in FDM.

If you print these in FDM when you insert their weapons into their hands you might need to do some sanding first just to ensure they fit in their hands.

Full files are in the C - Centaur folder in both drives. You can find them here too: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/35610-centaurs-updated

The Chimera was already touched up, so next is the Chuul! Take care friends :)

The Monster Manual Revisited has won the poll! 2020-06-29T13:31:54+00:00close

Thank you to everyone who voted during my recent poll! My next major effort will be to update all the creatures from the Monster Manual. This is a process I started about six months ago on and off, but to full focus on it will be a really great project given these are the most commonly used creatures in our games.

Given some pieces were already touched up, and some pieces don't need much tuning up at all I don't expect this to be a year long effort like Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. But it certainly will be refreshing to see some of these iconic creatures get the update they deserve.

I'll go about this Alphabetically, so expect some Centaurs soon as that's where I left off. However here and there the "Rule of Cool" will come in so expect some random treats. I'll alternate between this and your requests too of course, so new content is coming regardless of my main effort.

Thanks again everyone and stay safe :)

Will you be revisiting all monsters or just the ones that could use some more detail? It would be cool to maybe get some alternative poses for monsters that don't need a touch-up.
user avatar
mz4250 - 29 Jun 20 15:16
I'll revisit every one. I've already gone through letters A and B. If things need cooler poses I'll keep that in mind.
user avatar
User #17414333 - 29 Jun 20 17:11
I know I’m asking too much from an already awesome gift you are giving to all for free such as your models. But it would be greatly appreciated if you would add even only one alternative pose for monsters that usually come in groups. Two differently posed models and their two mirrors would give a group of four unique miniatures which is perfect for most encounters :D

Patron Request: Mordenkainen! 2020-06-28T14:26:03+00:00close

Here is Mordenkainen, an request from the Request Board I took care of this morning. I really like his double blade, which obviously can be used with other characters if they need something like this.

He should print fine as is with supports and a raft. The presupported model has him tilted back a little so supports aren't needed on his face. Full files are in Curse of Strahd - Mordenkainen. You can find the free stl here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/F92P3CFCL/mordenkainen

Onto the next modeling challenge :)

Tomorrow is my 4th wedding anniversary with Jen! So this means my live stream will be much earlier, until she wakes up. Then I'm off to make her breakfast and enjoy our day. So I might be a little light on content the next few days, but I'll be back at it soon :)

Non-Patrons voted on the last poll. New poll will be created. 2020-06-21T23:48:53+00:00

Hello friends. I'm very sorry to have to do this, but I was just informed that the next project poll was brigaded by non-patrons.

This was something I hadn't known was possible, but after a test poll on which my wife could vote with a junk gmail account... I have to scrap the results of the original poll.

Expect another one coming soon and it will be exclusively for patrons. During the week-long wait for the new poll to wrap up I will focus solely on your Request Board models. Thanks for your time and understanding my friends.

Explorer's Guide to Wildemount is my next big project! 2020-06-21T11:59:42+00:00

Thank you everyone who voted! It was getting close in the end, but Explorers Guide to Wildemount beat revisiting the Monster Manual so this will now be my next major project. Of course, when I have time I'll still touch up some of my older files. But expect many more new monsters from EGW.

Now just so we're clear, I'm going to create the new monsters in this book located in Chapter 7. I won't be modeling the characters from Critical Role given I've made so many PCs and NPCs at this point that can easily substitute for them with a good paint job.

So here they come! Twenty Three new creatures! Given I usually can create between three to five a week I expect this will take about two months or so. Wish me luck folks!

Request Board Models completed! 2020-06-18T17:17:17+00:00close

Today I have more models completed! First we have a Half Elf Male Barbarian that comes in two forms, one with a great axe and one with a mochi pounder (guess which one was the actual request haha). Full files are located in the Adventurers - Barbarian folder. You can find them here too:

I also updated my Aarakocra Ranger to have a little more texture and detail. Full files are in the Adventurers - Ranger folders. You can find them here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/3HCEN6PMA/aarakocra-ranger

Time to make some more presupported files. Today lets see if I can get to the Fighters folder. Take care folks :)

New Patron Requests Completed! 2020-06-17T19:27:06+00:00close

Here are more requests completed from the Request Board! First we have a Half Elf Artificer, located in Adventurers - Artificers, and here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/CA9UMUVWS/half-elf-male-artificer

Then I have a Dwarf Female Barkeep located in Appendix B - Commoners and here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/YK2HKDC8D/dwarf-female-barkeep

I also made more spell effects! This time its the Wall of Fire where you can either print it as one piece, or three pieces when in wall form. I also made the ring version too. Full files are in the S - Spell effects folder in both drives and here: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/34683-wall-of-fire

Time to get back to making more presupported files. I'm currently on the Clerics folder so it's going to take some time. But I'm getting there! Stay tuned friends :)

love the walls of fire, literally had a session not long ago where these would have helped tons (3 of my party can cast it!), both ring and straight. Thanks! (FYI i dropped ring into the build plate half a mm to make it have a flat base)

Sorry terrain really isn't my thing. If you request something specific in the Request Board I'll try my best.

Commissioned Model: Fairy Folk Commoner! 2020-06-16T14:24:24+00:00close

Today I created another fairy folk per a patron commission. She's a fresh model, though the wings were from the original fairy queen not to long ago. What's interesting about this one is that its a small creature, but thankfully in FDM all of her main features still show up.

Full files are in both drives under Appendix B - Commoner. The presupported file is there too. Files are here as well: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/34637-fairy-folk-female-commoner

I'll have more things to work on today, as well as create more presupports. Hopefully I can get to letter B today but we'll see. Take care folks and stay safe.

The 3D Printing & Mini Painting Contest! 2020-06-15T13:42:00+00:00

Hello friends. Its time for another 3D printing and mini painting contest! This month's theme won't be much of a shocker: Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus! I figured given I just finished the book we might as well show off our best prints from it. Rules are as followed:

  • Post your pieces in the comments below with an image url like imgur, instagram etc etc.
  • You have until 23:59 on 30 June 2020
  • Only use my files. Remixes are allowed.
  • Monsters & NPCs that appear in this book are preferred but if you want to show off your PCs that played in this campaign go for it!
  • One piece per patron from any tier. No group shots.

Once all pieces are in, I will make a poll the following day for you all to vote on who made the best piece. Along with the paint job please consider how well the print came out too, especially to FDM folks. Prizes are:

  • 1st - A Custom 3D modeled, printed & painted mini by me!
  • 2nd & 3rd - A custom 3D model!
  • 4th and beyond - A sticker by Jen!

Good luck with what you create! I can't wait to see what you post here!

We couldn't not print Lulu in her war form. Very shiny with the golden fur. However, after doing a paintjob of the Zariel in her angel form as a statue, we decided to go with that instead. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/287720687655976970/726724788499775548/IMG_04741.JPG

The whole mini is sprayed in matte finish but I have found that even though it's matte it gives minis a more shiny look and so that paired with lighting I suppose.

I am also entering a Zariel into the contest (though in her angelic form). I experimented with a few new techniques for this one, mostly zenithal under coating and glazes. Overall I’m very pleased with how she came out. I chose the lava base to represent when she first went to Avernus to conquer it. https://imgur.com/gallery/mwuuDZe (Edit, I forgot the link lol)

Pre-Supported Minis Are Happening! 2020-06-14T10:13:17+00:00

Hello friends. So after some trial and error I've decided to give this a go. I've been hesitant on this in the past given everyone has different printers, slicers and materials. But, if they work for you and save you time I'll give it a shot. Currently in the Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus folder you'll see there is now an stl file for most of the minis that has supports already set up. But before you jump with joy lets all keep some things in mind:

Resin only - While resin machines come in all shapes and sizes, FDM machines are even more diverse and the settings for each are so numerous there is no way to make supports that would work for everyone. With resin supports things are a little more uniform and these files should work for most machines. I'm sorry to my FDM friends. I know they can be a challenge.

What works for you might not work for me - I have given some of these files test prints and so far they've came out good. But what works for my machine might not work on yours. Feel free to check out the Discord channel on SLA help and see what folks use for their settings and experiment if you can. I'd love to test run every file but I just don't have the room for 2000+ test prints.

I really hope these help. Given there are 2000+ files it will take me some time before every file has a pre-suppported stl, but I do appreciate your patience. And in the end this will only be for creatures that can fit on a normal Photon sized plate, so Huge sized creatures on up will still need to be printed with big FDM machines.

From here onward whenever I create a new file, if it fits it'll get a pre-supported stl. I'm starting from Letter A and working my way down in the Google Drive, though this will obviously take a very long time before its all done. Take care folks and please feel free to try some of these out. I'd feedback either here or on the Discord ( https://discord.gg/ftKD3Eu ). Thanks!

Awesome job. Maybe ypur fans can help out and provide their supported files back to you to speed things up? Setup a process in which every file is tested by 3 independent fans and once the supported file receives 3 positive votes it is added to the collection? Just thinking out loud here as I know it can take a considerable amount of time adding supports and make everything work perfectly.

mz4250 - 14 Jun 20 10:42
That's not a bad idea. I'm taking feedback into consideration in the Discord now.

What program do you use for supports? What are you settings? Those are great, thanks.
user avatar
mz4250 - 19 Jun 20 13:03
Prusa Slicer. For the original Prusa SL1. Under Print Settings in supports I have these numbers going straignt down the line: 0.4 , 0.4 , 3 , 1 , 3, Zig-Zag , 3, 1, 1, 5, 45, 10, 10, 100% and 1

Placing supports for resin is an art and takes alot of time. I feel that you'll need some help if your planning on going back threw your catalog.

Thanks. Those come off so easy. I'm half sawing off the ones I make.

Would you also do baseless versions for everything with 4 or more legs for easier support removal?
user avatar
mz4250 - 14 Jun 20 22:20
No that would take an incredibly long time to do on top of this. I offer the Blender files for this reason. Select the base, delete it, then export it as a new stl file and you're set :)

User #24287715 - 15 Jun 20 12:24
Ok
Descent into Avernus is done! So what's next? YOU DECIDE! 2020-06-13T09:48:36+00:00

Hello friends! Descent into Avernus was a fun ride and I'm very proud of the end results! But now its time to pick the next big project for me to take on! Go ahead and pick your favorite choices below. I've added some of the new books that are out now, but I've also added an option for me to fully focus on the Monster Manual minis given I don't work on those as much as I'd like.

You have until 23:59 EST 20 June 2020 and you're allowed to choose more than one. I won't vote on this unless a tie breaker is needed. Until the vote is complete I'll focus on whats on the Request Board.

I can't wait to see what you guys pick! Thanks again for your support and commentary during Descent into Avernus. Keep being amazing folks :)

I feel like one vote per person would be a much better system. That way we can see what people's 1st choice is, not their 10th choice. I definitely don't think the MM is everyones top choice
user avatar
mz4250 - 15 Jun 20 14:14
Hello. I'm sorry you're not happy with how this is going. I chose the multiple choice option because folks sometimes want more than one thing to make the cut. Therefore if something wins that wasn't their top choice at least they had a say in something else they were excited for. I'll do my best to complete these as quickly as possible if that is the winner.
user avatar
User #27677082 - 15 Jun 20 16:39
Don't sweat it please! Not pissed at you or anyones choices. Just a bit frustrated. I know you're going to blaze through whatever the winner is and move on to the next thing. Much love everyone! Have a great day!

You've got a substantial request board back up. Why not work on that more frequently?
user avatar
mz4250 - 13 Jun 20 12:45
As it's stated on the Request Board, it's only done for fun and when I have free time. My primary focus are on book completion, tier rewards, and commissioned models. I will work on those when I can.

I agree
user avatar
mz4250 - 13 Jun 20 12:47
I want to work on new stuff too, however the Monster Manual minis are rather old and used more frequently than anything else. Touching them up is a necessary step just as much as new content.
user avatar
User #27677082 - 13 Jun 20 12:55
I totally get that. I love the revisited stuff for sure. I just think that the MM has so many models available out there and most of the other sources have very few or none at all. I think the MM gets a ton of votes because it's the only book some people know or own. I have the majority of these books and would love to be able to use some of your awesome models for them. Rant over. Love your stuff! Happy birthday again! You are a true gift to the RPG and 3d printing communities!

user avatar
User #8870517 - 14 Jun 20 08:43
Totally agree with Dan, While I absolutely do love seeing you revisiting the MM, I agree its nice having some other sources for creatures at the table..
user avatar
User #24287715 - 13 Jun 20 14:21
I think MM is winning because EVERYONE is selecting it as their 2nd choice. so if it's not your 1st choice unselect it or it's going to win over whatever your 1st choice was.
user avatar
User #33755775 - 13 Jun 20 14:37
It's also the only generic choice . It doesn't really mean anything precise. The other choices are more intetesting but only niche choices.

Now that you are going pre-supported I changed to "Revisiting The Monster Manual". This is going to be epic.

Given the light tension here, I am going to suggest that you pick the highest two. Given the MM lead, I think it results in continued split focus on the MM and another book. I think this is the best of both worlds, just slower.
user avatar
User #5725605 - 15 Jun 20 15:33
i Think the MM looks good as it is, eberron could be great, it has tons of new things and people dont see the potential of theros xD

Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus 3D modeled for 3D Printing!

Description
After three months of 3D modeling work I've completed most of the creatures and NPCs from this amazing D&D book! All the files are free and links are below each image! Anything missing has already been made in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes and the Monster Manual which I made already.

I'm happy to report that I have now completed Descent into Avernus! I'll make a big gallery soon to share with you and the rest of the world. Following that I'll make a new poll where you wonderful people will decide what my next project will be :)

For this last batch The Necromite was a fresh file, while the other two were simple remixes. Full files can be found in their respective folders in Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus in the Google Drive. You can find the stl files here too:

Big gallery coming soon and the next poll coming soon!

Thank you for all the great models you make. Will versions of demons and devils based on each prince and archdevil be part of the next survey?
user avatar
mz4250 - 12 Jun 20 18:02
Sorry no. I will retouch each demons and devils as I reach them in the Monster Manual when I retouch them but making individual demons and devils for each prince is a bit much that would drag my creative process to a near standstill for months.

Descent into Avernus - Lucille the Pit Fiend (True Form) 2020-06-10T19:40:57+00:00close

Hello friends! Here is Lucille the Pit Fiend, the right hand of Zariel, in her true form! Yesterday I made Lucille if she went to the gym a lot.. like... a lot. But here is the version you actually see in the book :)

She is best printed on her back like the one yesterday. However if your support game is strong you can try as is. For resin she'll actually fit in the Photon albeit at a very funny angle. You'll have to use thin supports all over, but medium supports under her base.

Full files re in the Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus folder. You can find the stl here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/KBV2KHXCN/lucille-true-form

Next up are the last three cultists! Take care friends.

Lucille the Pit Fiend and a Loxodon Artificer! 2020-06-09T17:37:16+00:00close

Hello friends. Every Tues and Thursday at 0830 EST I Live stream my 3D modeling on Twitch , and today I had some fun working on some unique models!

First I made a Loxodon Artificer per a request on the Request Board. You can find the full files in the Adventurers - Artificer folder and here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/PED29P4WJ/loxodon-artificer

I also made Lucille the Pit Fiend from Descent into Avernus! Well, I made my interpretation of her if she went ahead and got RIPPED. I figured a high charisma devil would hit the gym every once in a while in Avernus. Full files are in the Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus. The stl is here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/YENW3ZRGK/lucille

That's all for now. Take care friends!

Here are the three cultists from this amazing book. To print them properly you'll have to play around with angles depending on how you use supports. They should print fine as is, though printing on their backs wouldn't hurt either. For resin use thin supports.

Today I created more models, this time for one of the winner's from last month's painting contest as well as a Tier Reward. I made:

Dwarf Fighter w Tower Shield & Warhammer - located in Adventurers - Fighters - Dwarf Fighters. If your support game is strong he should print fine as is. On his back works too. Stl is here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/R6RA756SF/dwarf-fighter-w-tower-shield-n-hammer

Friendly Drow Rogue - which btw totally doesn't have a knife at his back ready to back stab you ... nope. You can find him in the Adventures - Rogues folder. There is also a version of him wearing goggles. Stl is here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/FQA97FEUW/friendly-drow-assassin and https://www.shapeways.com/product/3KP5QARY6/friendly-drow-assassin-with-goggles

That's all for now. I plan to take it easy this weekend, though sometimes I model for fun so expect something here and there. Take care friends :)

Hello friends. Today I completed more Tier Reward requests which included:

Kenku Wizard - located in Adventurers - Wizards. This was a fun exercise in sculpting and everyone loves bird PCs. I recommend printing him as is if you are comfy with supports, however you might have an easier time if tilted back about 15 degrees. For resin use thin supports. The stl is here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/6LLKLAMZQ/kenku-wizard

Pandalope - This cute little fella is actually a medium sized beast. I did make a non- antler normal Red Panda mini too, which is small sized. Both are located in the Appendix A folder in both drives., You can find the files here too: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/32785-pandalope

Commissioned Model: Dragonborn Male Ranger 2020-06-03T18:52:41+00:00close

Hello again friends. Here is a new model I made today via the Dragon God commission tier. Its nice to add another Dragonborn to the mix, but a ranged one is a nice change of pace too. To print him he should be fine as is with supports given how thick I made the bow and arrow. However printing him on his back can work too and support wouldn't be needed for the arrow. For resin tilting him back about 15 degrees with thin supports should be fine.

Full files are in the Adventurers - Ranger folder in both drives. You can find the file here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/PWV4GRA2S/dragonborn-male-ranger

Here is the massive Demonic trooper carrier that traverses through the River Styx from this amazing book. It is probably one of the biggest creatures I've ever made so not all printers might be able to handle him. Thankfully that's what scaling tools are for :)

Both pieces are oriented upward already and should print fine without supports. I recommend using them anyway just to be safe but at least you'll know you won't depend on them much.

Full files are in the Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus folder. You can find them here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/HLLXK2JWY/crokek-toeck

June 2020 Updates 2020-06-01T10:43:45+00:00

Hello friends. Between the pandemic and civil unrest Jen and I just hope you can all stay safe as we get through these times together. This month I'm going to finally complete Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus which I'm pretty excited about. This will ultimately lead to the next survey where you'll decide which book I should tackle. Expect some more models later today from this great book.

Google Drive Link Update -

The vast majority of patrons leaving these past few months have been because of the pandemic, and given things are not going to get any easier out there I've decided to leave the link unchanged until November. I know its not the biggest thing I can do to help folks but if its something I hope it helps.

Tier Rewards & Painting Contests Winners -

Thank you everyone who participated in the contest. It was a lot of fun. I've messaged the winners and am looking forward to the next one. Here are the Tier Reward receivers this month:

  • Ancient Dragon - Clay Kilpatrick & Carter
  • Adult Dragon - Chris Jones, Josh Haidara, & Silverstone
  • Young Dragon - BectheFloof, Christa Carr, Jadden & Wild

That's all for now. Expect three more models soon from Descent into Avernus. I'm also looking forward to taking on more Request Board models as soon as I get past these monthly rewards and commissions. Take care friends and I wish you luck out there.

You stay safe and healthy also. As far as the next book, it probably won't happen but a cool thought, is if you could convince WotC to forward characters from the next book release to you. Then you could have models ready for release when it does.

Here is the creepy yet cheerful Eladrin that roams Avernus with the chance of a very interesting encounter to follow. He should print fine as is, though on his back with supports in both cases works too.

I'm not going to lie, his smile kind of creeps me out a bit o_0

Anyway the full files are in the Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus folder. You can find the stl here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/S3VQYHEJU/smiler-the-defiler

Next up is Nine-Fingers Keene. Take care my friends.

Tyranny of Dragons & Lost Mine of Phandelver Folders Created! 2020-05-30T14:01:12+00:00close

Hello friends. To make life a little easier for folks who are working on these campaigns I've made separate folders in the Google Drives that are specifically for these two campaigns. I've already made all the files needed for most of the NPCs and monsters for these two series. All that was needed was some file movement, though I did have to make some remixes here and there.

Anyway just thought I'd share. Take care and I hope everyone stays safe out there.

Next up on this amazing book is the Rakshasa merchant who can lead to some unique encounters. He should print fine as is with supports, but printing him on his back works too.

Full files are in the Baldurs Gate Descent into Avernus folder. You can also find the stl's here:

Here are more fun models from the Request Board! First we have Fenthaza from Tome of Annihilation! You can find her in that books folder. You can find the stl file here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/ES45RP9A3/fenthaza

Then we have a rather odd request that was a lot of fun to put together. Here is the Decaton Modron! He should actually print ok with no supports, but using some to be on the safe side wouldn't hurt. Full files are in the M - Modron folder. You can find the stl here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/5QZRV4UZV/decaton

That's all for now. During the weekend if I do some casual modeling I think I'll focus on Descent into Avernus. I'm about 13 models away from finishing that book. Take care everyone :)

I also made a Centaur Male Sorcerer with a Crossbow, which can be found in the Adventurers folder - Sorcerers. There is also a medium sized version too. You can find the main file here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/8U2KP7UXW/centaur-male-sorcerer-with-crossbow

Tomorrow I'll live stream more modeling at 0830 EST on Twitch. First model up will be a Type 3 Malison! See you then!

Hello friends! Today to celebrate Jen and I moving into our new home I went ahead and did a 14 hour 3D modeling marathon. From sun up to sun down I modeled as much as I could and created a bunch of requests that are a mix of commission work and from the Request Board! I made:

I lasted about 14 hours in this marathon, with sadly 1.5 hours dealing with Verizon fixing our wifi. Thankfully I was able to get back online after that. But sadly I didn't break my 16 record haha. I'll try harder next marathon. Anyway, that's all for now. Take care folks :)

Descent into Avernus: The Bone Whelk! 2020-05-24T21:14:41+00:00close

I'm happy to report that Jen and I have settled into our new home and everything is ready to go to continue making free models for the world to enjoy! This evening for fun I thought I'd get back into it by 3D modeling another monster from DIA, so here is the creepy bone consuming snail the Bone Whelk!

Full files are located in the Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus folder. You can find the stl here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/C9QUPGBST/bone-whelk

It should print fine as is. Supports aren't really needed but I'd use them anyway just to be safe.

So for the rest of the week given its nearing the end of the month I'm going to focus just on Request Board models, and I'll do more than the usual amount of live streams to celebrate our new house! Be sure to follow to me on Twitch . Given tomorrow is a holiday I'm not envisioning a stream but we'll see. That's all for now. Take care folks, and thanks again for your patience while I was moving :)

3D Printing & Painting Contest: Poll #1 (there were too many submissions lol) 2020-05-23T23:28:18+00:00

Hello friends! Jen and I have moved in and settled in our first house! Its been a busy couple of days but I have internet now so I can get back to work! And the first post is naturally your chance to vote on this month's 3D printing and mini painting contest! Go ahead and vote for your favorite pieces in this gallery here: https://imgur.com/gallery/xI1Uu74

There are two polls given the large amount of submissions and Patreon only allows 25 choices per poll. The second one is posted right after this one.

You have until 23:59 30 May 2020 to vote. The prizes are:

  • 1st - A Custom 3D modeled, printed, & painted mini by me!
  • 2nd & 3rd - A Custom 3D model
  • 4th and beyond - A sticker by Jen!

As usual I will not vote unless a tie breaker is needed. Thanks again to all the folks that submitted pieces! They're amazing! And more importantly, thank you all for your patience while I was moving to our new home. I still have some work to do here but by Monday I'll be ready to get back to it. I think a live stream will be fitting :D Anyway vote away folks and thanks again!

Descent into Avernus: Archduke Bel! 2020-05-20T14:43:42+00:00close

Here is the Archduke Bel, the former ruler of Avernus and constant thorn to the side of Zariel. He should print fine as for FDM with supports. You might lose a few of his claws under his wings unless you're support game is strong. Nothing green stuff can't fix. For resin I'd tilt him back about 15 degrees and use thin supports.

Full files are in the Baldur's Gate Descent into Avernus folder. You can find the stl here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/PY2FKEMAQ/bel

This will be my last post until May 23rd as Jen and I will be in the process of moving to our first house :). Wish us luck folks and I'll see you all in a few days. I'll still be accessible though social media if anything. Happy printing!

Today I worked on some commissions! First up we have a Fungal Lich located in the L- Lich folder and here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/KLXN6EJAY/fungal-lich

I recommend printing him on his back with supports given his finger positioning.

I also made a Arch Fey Female for fellow artist Joenni Z , a very talented 2D artist you should all follow. Full files are in A - Arch Fey. The stl is here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/K9LWGUJNC/arch-fey-female

I also made a second version with a Quiver that should be easier to print if you wanted to printer her as is: https://www.shapeways.com/product/XYW4XGWEU/arch-fey-female-with-quiver

That's all for now. Tomorrow I'll try to get a few more works completed but as a reminder from May 21 to 23 I won't be posting as Jen and I will be moving to our new home. Take care and happy printing folks :)

Patron Request: Female Greek Paladin! Also an Important Announcement :) 2020-05-18T17:33:50+00:00close

Here is Tier Reward for a Young Dragon patron that I made today. With Mythic Odyssey's of Theros coming out soon I figure more requests like these will be common. I used some Athena artwork that the patron supplied to make her happen. She should print fine as is with supports under the shield, though printing her on her back is an option too.

Full files are in the Adventurers - Paladin folder. You can find the stl here too: https://www.shapeways.com/product/AYAZ6LN6B/female-greek-paladin

Important Announcement!

Jen and I are moving into our first house this week! Given rent is starting to skyrocket in the DC area (yay Amazon) we decided to move west to Annandale VA where we can save some money but still stay close to our friends in the region. This is a first for both of us, so we're very excited.

But given we'll be busy moving from May 21 - 23 I regret to inform I will be off the radar during that time. I'll still be able to access social media and check in on the Discord here and there, but I sadly won't have any new models during this time. I'm sure you all understand, and trust me I'll get right back to it as soon as we have internet in our new house.

Anyway that's all for now. Thanks again for all your support folks :)

Good luck and stay safe. I can't imagine Annandale is much cheaper. I sold my 2600 sq ft town house in Reston back in 2001 for twice what I bought it for then moved away out 65 miles west to Clarke County just to afford a single family home. But then we pulled up stakes and headed 2000 miles further to the west. 😂

Very very nice! You know, I learned from Adam Savage of this almost perfect Chrome paint. You can get it in different sized markers but they also sell a refill for air-brushing. It is from MOLOTOW and it is called liquid chrome. It is AMAZING! use it over a coat of very high-gloss black then apply this liquid chrome in a very this coat and it is the best chrome paint I have seen. Just hought I'd pass something along I learned of. You may have heard of it already. Any way... keep up the fantastic work!

About Krull... 2020-05-16T09:45:43+00:00

Hello friends. Yesterday I posted my Krull model and on Twitter I tagged Joe Manganiello given its his character, plus hey its fan art too. Sadly I had to take the model down soon after per his request. His assistant explained that while he loved the model and loves my work, he'd prefer if his specific IP not be put up for free download the way I do it with other IP items by Wizards. Now I know I've been doing this for five years and Wizards has never really had issue with what I do, but those are specifically his creations and I need to respect these wishes.

So sorry about that yesterday. I know its probably not going to happen but please don't tag or try to convince him otherwise. His assistant and him were super nice and I do understand where they are coming from on their end.

Anyway, Krull, Arkham and Toragar from Descent into Avernus will be skipped and I'll head straight to Bel. If you needed those characters obviously I have plenty of alternatives that kind of look like that with some remixing in the Adventurer's Folder. Take care, again my apologies, and I hope you're all having a good weekend :)

Since parody is allowed under fair use, I say you remix that character into a humanoid shrimp and name it Krill.

User #14461404 - 16 May 20 12:38
This is not a jab at Mr. Manganiello or his character, I'm just a fan of puns and bad jokes

User #12442277 - 16 May 20 14:25
Being a fan of puns and bad jokes is a prerequisite for proper DnD playing, if you ask me :)

3D Printing & Painting Contest: The Underdark! 2020-05-15T14:30:52+00:00

This month the theme for the 3D printing & Painting Contest will be the creatures that live beneath the world we adventure in. From the Drow, Duergar, Mindflayers, Ropers and more, this month will be for those that creep, plot, slither, or crawl in the deep, dark recesses of the realms.

To take part in this you'll just post your pic of your best 3D printed and painted piece below in the comments with an image url like imgur, instagram etc. The rules are:

  • One post and one creature per patron
  • Must be found in the Underdark
  • Use my files.
  • Remixes are welcome
  • You have until 23:59 22 May 2020 to post your pic below.

After 22 May I'll post a poll where you will decide who made the best piece. I won't vote unless a tie breaker is needed. The prizes are:

  • 1st - A Custom 3D modeled, printed, & painted mini by me!
  • 2nd & 3rd - A Custom 3D model
  • 4th and beyond - A sticker by Jen!

I can't wait to see what you guys post! Don't forget the the latest Duegar and Drow options are in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes and Mindflayers are in Volo's Guide to Monsters. Good luck and may the best piece win!

A simple remix of ours. Currently only labeled as "Greater Flumph", but that name may change with time. Printed on Snapmaker 1.0 using matte white filament and no primer. https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/489110245633818656/712531850832379997/IMG_20200520_070636_BURST01_COVER.jpg

Hello. You need to run the tentacles under a hot hair dryer to warp them so they look like tentacles. They were never intended to look like pillars. You still have time! You should fix this up before the 22nd :)

User #33861051 - 20 May 20 15:26
I'll fix that up then, wish there was a facepalm emoji on here.

Agh I was going to post my very first mini I ever printed and painted, a giant subterranean lizard, but I couldn't find it... Turns out I left it at my friend's house where we play D&D (Or used to pre-COVID). It is now missing a hand and all but one of its toes... The perils of leaving toys around a 3 year old :)

This is a good opportunity to learn meshmixer's plane cut, so you can reprint just the parts that need replacing and superglue them in place. Being able to recover failed prints this way is also really valuable, since you can reprint tough areas that supports destroyed (though obviously limbs are easier than bodies...)

User #63707 - 22 May 20 21:58
True. I was considering just sculpting the missing bits out of green stuff too (small parts), but ended up not having enough time this week.
