Hello! Thank you for using yiff.party!

We hope you enjoy using it. yiff.party operates on a non-profit basis, and as such, all the server expenses are paid by our users. We don't want to run ads or infect you with crypto miners. We depend on users like you to keep the site running, and to preserve years and terabytes of amazing content—some of which is no longer available from its original creators!

Because of the nature of the site, many users are reluctant to donate. That's OK! yiff.party was created so everyone can enjoy the content we host without any restrictions or paywalls. But if you value the service we provide, and are able to, we—and our users—would be tremendously grateful if you considered making a donation.

Donation progress for August 2020

So far, approximately $0.00 has been raised out of our target of $250.00. We're about 0% of the way there! Please note: this tracker is updated manually—don't worry if your donation doesn't show up immediately!

yiff.party's server costs are due on the last day of each month. So, we need to meet this goal before 31 August!

How to donate?

At this time, yiff.party can only accept donations in numerous cryptocurrencies. Please select a currency below to display the relevant donation address.

Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum Classic (ETC)
Litecoin (LTC)
Why can't I donate through other means (eg. PayPal)?

Due to the nature of sites like yiff.party, it is very difficult to find payment processors who will accept clients like us. If we were to accept donations via PayPal, it wouldn't take more than a day for someone to submit an abuse report and get our account frozen. Until a viable way of accepting monetary donations becomes available, cryptocurrency will remain the only option.

There are many resources available on how to purchase crypto. For Bitcoin, check out bitcoin.org's page on buying Bitcoin for a list of methods. For beginner Bitcoin users, yiff.party recommends using an escrow service such as LocalBitcoins.

City of Secrets - Animated Trailer 2020-07-29T19:49:57+00:00close

I was commissioned to produce an animated trailer for Victoria Ying's graphic novel, City of Secrets. I finished this almost two months ago. Now I can finally show it!

"Ever Barnes is a shy orphan guarding a secret in an amazing puzzle box of a building. Most of the young women who work at the building’s Switchboard Operating Facility, which connects the whole city of Oskar, look the other way as Ever roams around in the shadows. But one of them, Lisa, keeps an eye on the boy. So does the head of the Switchboard, Madame Alexander . . . a rather sharp eye. Enter Hannah, the spunky daughter of the building’s owner. She thinks Ever needs a friend, even if he doesn’t know it yet. Good thing she does! Lisa and Madame Alexander are each clearly up to something. Ever is beset by a menacing band of rogues looking to unlock the secret he holds–at any cost. And whatever is hidden deep in the Switchboard building will determine all of their futures. On a journey that twists and turns as much as the mechanical building Ever Barnes calls home, he and his new friend Hannah have to and out what’s really going on in this mysterious city of secrets . . . or else!"

Thanks the advice Toniko. I am in a sense doing personal projects by myself even though I have people who can help but like you said its costly and consumes more time to communicate. I really appreciate what you’re doing. They bring so much motivation. I hope you are in good health and enjoy your weekend.

Thinking about going into character design? You should try animating characters with 2D animation! I also talk about how animation can actually help improve your drawing skills, instead of having to think you need good drawing skills before you even attempt 2D animation.

Here are my top common mistakes that not just beginners, but I and many professionals do when making short animated projects that may jeopardize the production itself. This excludes anything like writing, story, character - but rather the actual making of process.

Basic Human Anatomy & Figure Invention for Animation - The Skeleton - 2020-05-09T00:05:34+00:00close

I've started doing these recordings with the headline "Basic Human Anatomy & figure invention", where I talk about anatomy related stuff in the most surface level. In this long recorded video, I try to break down a complex subject such as the human skeleton in the most basic/simpler methods. The skeleton itself is already incredibly daunting, especially for a starting animator who has to animate figures. No pun intended, but this is very bare bones level discussion!

Youtube upload frequency may slow down 2020-04-16T00:54:01+00:00

Hey guys! I just want to thank you all for the support. Hearing some positive messages and feedback really lifts me up. As much as I'd love to post more frequently, there are other projects I'd like to pursue that is outside the you tube realm. Also, I'm in crunch time since I've overloaded myself with full-time and other work. This does not mean I'll give up on youtube, and I will post videos here and then - but it won't be weekly, or as frequent. There may be long videos like my drawing tutorials and advice where most of it is left unedited, with the presentation being dry. YouTube alone is a lot of work, and I've already decided that it is more of a casual side hobby I like to do. I'm fortunate enough to have a living stability where I don't depend on you tube alone. I even told myself 50k subscribers is where I'd call it done. However, I do enjoy making videos for you tube, and it is a great way for me to express my thoughts in this journey of animation. My main priorities however, have always been in animation projects that take way too much time away from something this. I do not have a you tuber or a head strong social media influence personality, but if you guys are liking the videos I'll try my best to accommodate. I have some youtube videos, advice and tutorials along the way (one that includes strategies on keeping your animation solid) Hopefully with these other pursuits, I can work more on original animated content - and see how things go from there.

I can't tell you what things I've been working on, or things I'll start working on soon.. Yet. If there is anything you'd like me to talk about or show more on you tube, please feel free to leave a comment and let me know!

Your YT output was quite ‘chunky’ and videos were numerous! i was honestly genuinely surprised at the rate you uploaded them. I was sorta catching up! Glad to see that you’re doing some unannounced work, that’s always exciting for the public

Unfortunately I don't have anything special to upload right now, but here's some rough animation I just put together.. A test for something set in the mid 2000s. First shot was actually animated almost half a year ago, and was learning how to draw the character while learning how to do a character singing while playing an instrument. Second shot was worked on just recently. Tried playing around with after effects - maybe I'll do a short film in this style. Song is Misery Business by Paramore.

Also I won't be posting as much since I'll be very busy in the coming days

Drawing Fast Gesture Figures for Animation with these three secrets 2020-03-21T02:06:58+00:00close

Drawing fast is not only an important skill for animation, but essential when trying to get an overall idea first before giving your drawings that finished look. Many artists tend to forget to be bold, let loose and let go, which holds them back into breaking out of their comfort zone.

Destroying Bad Drawing Habits Through Observation 2020-03-14T07:18:02+00:00close

To those that asked me about where to start learning how to draw for animation, here's a video I made where I talk about observation skills, and how to practice it through blind contour. Observation skills allow you to study and emulate any other style, and draw many things outside of your comfort zone. In order to do that, you have to force yourself to be okay with making decisions you would never do.

Kipo - Animation and Compositing Exploration Reel 2020-01-20T08:55:10+00:00close

Here's a few stuff I did that I can finally show when I was still at Dreamworks Animation! A reel I made consisting of a few early pre production animation work I did for Kipo: Age of the Wonderbeasts from 2018. I was working with Rad Sechrist in translating his designs into animation. I experimented with the appropriate animation style and pipeline, as well as help out with Character Design (which I got credit in just the first four episodes). It was a great experience. I would have stayed if my role was a bit different, but due to circumstances involving animation vendors and such - I made the choice to stay in storyboarding at feature at the time... I'm not sure who painted the BG's I used in the reel, but Angela Sung art directed the show. Please go watch the incredible show at Netflix.

Earthball Story Sequence preview 2020-01-01T08:04:23+00:00close

Up for a limited time only! Earthball is a 35-40 minute film I finished boarding months ago. This is two parts of a very early version of the short film. After screening the film with a few select audiences in The Philippines, I realized the direction of the film was a bit misguided. Since then, I've rewrote the script, the characters, and the overall heart of the story. One thing that will be emphasized is the friendship between two characters who grow up to become cooks on the island. Here is a 5 min preview of the film. Voices provided by Kennedy Tarell, Bosook Coburn and Danny Langston.

Toniko Pantoja - Dam Keeper Poems Rough Animation Reel 2017 2019-10-15T18:49:34+00:00close

I really hope this mini series comes out publicly in the United States. Animation work I did for Dam Keeper Poems, a Tonko House Production directed by Erick Oh. This was one of my favorite productions ever. We roughly animated a 50 minute film in two months. Dam Keeper Poems was an american/japanese collaborated project that was a Hulu Japan exclusive production. Dam keeper poems ended up winning the Cristal Award. Music is done by Matteo Roberts and Zachary Johnston. This is not all my animation work on the production, just a few shots that I personally like that I did.

A sample of storyboards to animation. This is for a project I'm currently being put on hold, but here is what I also did a loooong time ago, would say almost a couple of years. This is to show that I keep storyboards for my personal projects really loose since they are just for placeholder The project is currently titled "Project DF" and maybe in the future I'll post more about it.

I am starting a new side series called OFF RECORD, which are more casually edited entries in which I talk about thoughts, ongoing projects, personal experiences and stories. In this video, I talk about a 30 minute film I spent a while writing, but only to realize that it needs to be rewritten and reboarded. Here are my thoughts on why, and how I feel about that decision.

Great stuff. Totally makes sense the comment from that girl. Competition...yeah that too...but I think the whole deal with "food" as something soooo special, is totally western thing. Like, I herd that because traditional western european food is somewhat bland and uninteresting, western europeans get totally fascinated with food from elsewhere, and end up thinking that this represents the whole culture. While there is always a deeper meaning behind it. It's a great idea to make it more asian minded rather than the western white-man minded. Sadly most of the western minded stories are devoid of the deeper more spiritual meanings.Especially some of the recent movies. There are no "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai." moments in western animation. And I like any of your inputs. So whatever format feels more easily manageable to you.

The Microsoft Surface Pro aren't good for drawing. You should definitely try one before you buy. Drawing a horizontal or vertical line works fine, but if you draw a line diagonally you will be fighting major stair-stepping. It's almost as if the sensors aren't close enough together or the interpolation between points is very poor. I draw on it because it's all I have, but I feel like I'm fighting the hardware the entire time. I wouldn't recommend any of the Surface Pro line of tablet PCs because they all seem to suffer from this flaw according to artist reviews I've read.

I love wacom's durability and reliability. But I hate how they are trying to capitalize on every single accessory. And they are super expensive...simply because they are branded "wacom".

Switched all my tiers to only a $1 due to change in priorities and scheduling. If you pledging anything above that, please switch to a $1 or if you feel like you want to stop I totally understand. I will try to stream personal project work this week - while answer some q&a on the side.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Switching to only $1 Pledges for my patreon for now. 2019-04-20T03:45:16+00:00

Hey guys! Its Toniko!

First of all, I want to thank you all for your support for my work. I can't thank you guys enough, and you guys have kept me motivated to keep working on personal projects. Ever since I started my patreon, I was able to finish my stand alone course on 2D animation, as well as grow my business. I also want to apologize for not being super active here on patreon, since I've been heavily busy on work and expanding my personal business.

With that being said, I may have been overly ambitious with my patreon account promising frequent file uploads, streams, etc. The past few months has not made this realistic for me, and I feel like I have not kept up to my word and followers here at patreon. Now that I have been selling educational courses online, managing my own business, as well as being a fulltime artist in the animation industry, I'm going to have to make this account only a $1 pledge, taking out both the $3 and $5 pledge. Here are my reasons for this:

- My past works, works in progress and sketches are either secretive they aren't - most likely I'll put them online in all of my social media for public viewing. I don't think they are worth the extra payment, and it doesn't sit right having people pay for that.

- Discount codes for my gumroad products will now be a public thing on all of my social media depending on time and seasons. For now, I think this is a better business option for myself instead of giving discount codes exclusively to people on patreon (Paying for discounts is not something my business is ready for) since not many folks have been using them from here.

However, I will keep the $1 pledge online for now since doing streams seem more realistic for me - and something I can deliver to my patreon followers. The reason why I'm going to keep the streams archive around is because of how it blends seeminglessly with my personal projects, and that I do Q&As and mini lessons during those sessions.

I know it may not sit well with everyone who has supported my page, and I humbly apologize. However, I would rather remove pledges for things I cannot deliver right now. I would rather be honest with how I pursue my business plans instead of being floaty about things. If you decide to stop supporting this page, I totally understand.

Thank you all for reading this.

The change will take place Next Friday.

- Toniko

One of the biggest hooks of a HUION tablet is their more affordable pricing compared to the expensive and high quality WACOM. The device I will be looking at is the Kamvas Pro 20. Many thanks to HUION for sending me this hardware.

Thanks for the review. It was very helpful. but I don't have so much space to place this big device . I had been looking for a graphics drawing tablet for awhile and my friend recommended XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro Dislay drawing tablet since she has one. It's a good device for drawing directly on the screen ! When we got it to a working state it's helped productivity greatly as things that would take 10 minutes now take around 1 or so.

I hope I'm not too late for this! I always appreciate reviews by actual artists who'd be using the tablet being reviewed to produce profesh content the way they do, lots of reviewers don't really draw it when they do try don't really show how the machine performs with their workflow. So I'd love to know how it -feels- compared to your usual set up, abd if you are able to do your full workflow in t without it feeling clunky

For those wondering why I have been quiet for the past few weeks.

I am currently crunching on completing the video course I have been working for a year and a half now. Here's a video explaining the state of the course, what plans I have for it, and my approach on it. I'm hoping to be done with this package mid november!

Some gumroad creators, offer the ability to by a package in various parts, thus making the package more available for people who cannot dedicate a big sum of money from the get go.Do you plan on dividing the package ?Or it will always go as one whole thing?

October and November - the last haul 2018-10-08T07:10:12+00:00

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't updating this page in a while, since I am crunching on the Intro to 2D animation video course. I am around 80-90% complete with the whole thing, but some of the last remaining videos require more production time.

I want to take the time to thank all of you for your support. I know I haven't engaged my patrons as much as I had wished, but know that seeing any type of support has motivated me so much to complete this. There are many times I have doubted myself during the process of editing these videos, wondering if it'll benefit me and the viewer wanting to learn.

During the months of October and November, I will be spending this time trying to complete the package and put it on public online. I plan to have it done within the month of November. I have to finish this once and for all.
